Service and food is always excellent in this restaurant. It's not the cheapest place in Kendal, but in our opinion, it is the best.

We had been excited to visit and the reality exceeded our expectations. Food was excellent, service professional and friendly and wine really impressive and very good value. Thursday night seemed a good time to go . I am sure we will return and it will be interesting to see how it differs on a Friday or Saturday, or if it does. We loved it! Looking forward to returning. Thanks for a top night.

An early evening Valentine’s Day meal before a gig at the Brewery Arts Centre. Excellent service and superb food. Starters of pressed ham hock and caramelised goat’s cheese followed by mains of Skrei cod and Lowther Park venison with faggot. Desserts were Yorkshire rhubarb parfait. All beautifully cooked and presented. We’ll be back!

Amazing food, a bit pricey but so good. Friendly service. The only downside was that it was a bit cold although it was a particularly cold night and I had a thin dress on! Would definitely go again but dress a bit more sensibly!

Lovely food especially the salmon and couscous. Cauliflower main meal and the burger meals were also enjoyed by the others in our group. Food was very well presented.

Very good food at reasonable price & prompt service .

the food was sublime, the staff were friendly but the noise levels in the restaurant were a bit too loud, assisted possibly by the lack of any soft furnishings which help to absorb the noise. The restaurant was a bit cold as well. I think it could be made much more comfortable but otherwise we enjoyed it very much and will definitely go back again. We will try to be seated upstairs next time to see if it is warmer and less noisy.

The food was very good for both vegetarian and meat based meals.

Took a risk and booked this from the internet before arriving - we weren’t disappointed. The standard of food and service was excellent and it was reasonably priced.

Food was OK, but a bit overpriced to be honest and I felt that the bill for the 4 of us was quite excessive.

Table for two which was my first visit this year... really enjoyed the food and relaxed atmosphere. The chicken escalope and truffle and Parmesan Fries were delicious.. not to mention cauliflower soup. Great dinner and worth a rerun visit

This was my fourth visit and, as usual, the food was lovely - fresh, seasonal ingredients, cooked well and presented imaginatively. What I particularly like is that the menu changes with the seasons and there are always good options for vegans including a proper pud'! They seem to appreciate that just because you're vegan it doesn't mean you don't enjoy food. The service was excellent, as usual.

Pre-theatre menu keenly priced.. Good Vegan options. Well presented and cooked. Extensive drinks menu. Great coffee.

We had the most amazing meal and will definitly be returning when we go back to stay in Kendal.

Food was good Prices fair and overall a good experience. The waiting team needs to learn their trade a bit better. I.e. never leave the restaurant empty handed and scan the room as you work to ensure that customers are not left waiting to long. Still the service was better than most restaurants but improvements would have got top marks
