We are travelling and were recommended The Mustard Seed by a local and I’m so glad we took their advice. Everything was absolutely delicious, including the drinks. Really different and tasty meals.

The Mustard Seed was great! My boyfriend and I shared the pumpkin sage tortelloni and the grazing platter. Both were delicious, especially the broth for the tortelloni. I had the monkfish and he had the duck special. Both were amazing. The service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommend!

We're great fans of Mustard Seed but this wasn't our best visit. Perhaps it was due to the time of day but our food wasn't as good as normal. I had the vennison which should have been pink but was definitely overdone. We ordered two glasses of house red, only one came. When we got the 2nd it wasn't the same wine and not very pleasant. Service of the food was somewhat brusque with plates being plonked rather than placed. Finally, one cup of coffee was ordered and it turned out to be lukewarm. At least the price of that was taken off our bill. A little bit disappointing compared with usual.

Lovely atmosphere, good food, monkfish was amazing. Service took a while, only one bartender meant our cocktails were slow. Our waitress also had a bit of an attitude issue, rolled her eyes a few times. I understand being busy but felt a bit unp

We ordered the prawns with linguini which was fabulous. Emma, our waitress, was very attentive yet also had such a positive attitude. One of the best meals we’ve had on our 10 day trip in Scotland. Be sure to order the cheesecake - lighter than most but so delicious. Oh and the baked Brie and couscous salad were to die for. Make reservations as they were turning away people without them.

Our table was booked for 9:15 which we know was late, but it was offered as an option. By 10pm, it was clear the staff wanted to go home and so we didn't linger (we only had one round of cocktails and mains). Whilst we understand the lateness, one would expect that if a table booking is offered for that late, then it should be treated like a table that came in at 7pm.

We visited for lunch for my mums birthday, it was lovely. Our server, Daniel, was polite, attentive and friendly. I mentioned it was my mums birthday, because why not, and he arranged to play a happy birthday song and brought mum a wee bowl of ice cream with a sparkler candle in it. It was lovely but not overwhelming. Would 100% go back again and recommend it to friends.

Very cute and staff was super friendly! If only we were there for conversation and a drink only. The food however was lackluster. Priced high and flavorless. Vegetables were not fresh and bland. Every plate served had a swirl of balsamic reduction to make it look nice but that doesn’t make it worth the higher end feel there were going for. Some of the saddest food ever to be plated.

Nice friendly staff and they acknowledged my husband’s birthday which was lovely. The food and finer details were just “ok” and not as good as some of the other restaurants of a similar nature and price range in Inverness. Irish butter in foils that you get on a low cost flight, ginger beer served in a can, very limited menu (for pescatarian / vegetarian - we only had a choice of 2 mains). The food was “ok” but nothing special and the portions small. The drinks menu for non-alcohol drinkers very limited. Most restaurants now see the potential market for mocktails and more zero alcohol spirits and wines. The location and building were lovely and service good. Just sadly doesn’t compete in Inverness so wouldn’t be somewhere we would return in a hurry. Hopefully the feedback is useful as it wouldn’t take much to make this restaurant better!

Really like the interior of the restaurant and the service was generally good but the food wasn't. It was edible but not good. I had the pakora starter which was ok but not very interesting taste & then the sea bass on a mound of bland potato salad (I can't remember what else should have been on the plate but basically that was all there was). I ate the fish but left most of the potato & the person who cleared didn't ask whether it was ok. The other two I ate with weren't impressed with their meals but it was a birthday and I didn't want to make an issue of it. A real pity - with good food it'd be a great place.

We had a wonderful experience. Adam made sure we had a great table with a view, and also helped us celebrate our anniversary with a surprise glass of Prosecco! The ambiance is beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the service provided by Andrew genuinely friendly and superb. Thank you, Mustard Seed crew, for an unforgettable evening in Inverness!
