The food was perfectly fine, a very tasty pork belly... however the service was shockingly poor, as was the coffee! Waited about 15 minutes to have our initial order taken, and then after ordering desserts, waited a good 20 minutes, before deciding to just pay the bill and go. No apology either, which was disappointing.

This was a birthday meal. We ordered drinks, which came straight away. We ordered the food, and had to wait an hour, for the food to be served. The food was disappointing. I had fish pie, which was mediocre. The other three each had a roast. The Gammon was over cooked and tough. The Yorkshire puddings, one step away from being burnt. There were five waiters serving. Our waiter was totally indifferent. Conclusion, An over priced menu, badly cooked. Far too long for service, despite a set menu, with four choices. Totally disappointed.

Food was very good and so were the excellent service staff, but this is more of a drinkers pub (sadly, with the dissapointing swearing and loud music) with a side room bolted on where we ate. Car parking was also a bit of a problem as well.

Very nice fish pie, followed by ice cream. Comfortable place, very friendly staff, good service, what more can one want? And open for food on Mondays which many places aren’t.

The food was absolutely delicious. We were able to choose our table as they weren’t to busy, which is always nice. The young man was very helpful and did not rush us into choosing our food or eating it. The service was superb, loved it, we will certainly go there again.

Unwelcoming atmosphere. If you’re not local or a regular you’ll be given a cold reception. God forbid if you’re of a different race. Food is mediocre.

It was a lovely sunny day ,we sat on the sun terrace, and had very good food , the starters were loved and sampled by all 6 of us , the main courses were very well presented and were very tasty , the deserts gave us a problem of which to choose they were all delicious . I would certainly recommend it to friends. The service was very friendly and helpful and all part of a very nice day.

A mixed bag here in that there were 5 of us and 3 were very happy with everything and 2 weren’t. We were seated downstairs in the restaurant which I found too cramped and noisy, so much so that I could not hear properly and when anyone needed to get out it was a palava. This did not set the evening off to a good start. 4 of us had starters. The sharing seafood platter was a hit. The scallops were £11.95 which I thought was pricey. There were the usual 3 and they were cooked well and sat on carrot purée with pancetta on top. The carrot purée was great but the pancetta wasn’t crispy which was a real shame. There was also a caper oil along the sides which wasn’t necessary. Someone else had deep fried Brie. We sat down at 7 and by 830 most of our mains arrived. I say most because my lamb didn’t come with the others. The manager said it would be 3 more minutes. The others starting eating so that their food didn’t get cold. After a bit more time the manager returned and said the lamb would be another 3 minutes and that there had been an accident and it had been dropped. At around 850 it arrived by which time my husband had already finished his main course and the others were well through theirs. It looked good but when I cut into one piece it was completely raw. I never usually send food back but the manager happened to be next to me and saw I wasn’t happy. He took it back to be cooked again. It came back after another 5-10 minutes and was cooked this time but a smaller piece. However, by this time everyone else had finished eating so I was left eating by myself which obviously detracted from the enjoyment. Throughout the whole issue I have to say that the manager was very apologetic and said that he would not charge me for my main. The worse thing for me was that the same thing happened on my previous visit a year ago when my steak didn’t come and we had to wait about 40 minutes with lots of random excuses. Overall, for the mains the fish pie and fillet steaks were really well received and all were happy. The vegetarian dish was nice but too small for my husband who was still hungry afterwards. My lamb, when it came, was fairly tasty. Due to the problems I was also offered a free dessert. Usually I wouldn’t have one but two people were having cheese so I decided to look. I asked if I could just have plain strawberries and ice cream and the manager said he would make me an Eton mess which I was really pleased about. However, there must have been another issue in the kitchen as instead he came out with a dessert platter of a white chocolate and pecan tart, a strawberry and cream stack and a bowl of ice cream with a fruit bits of fruit and crumb/wafers. This was a nice touch but seems to show that the kitchen weren’t able to produce an Eton mess. Overall the nice, which was to celebrate my dad’s 75th birthday was a little disappointing. The highlights were the manager’s banter throughout the evening and his service, some of the food was good and my dad was given a free glass of port for his birthday which was a lovely touch. He also tried to do everything to make up for the issues with the main which again was lovely - and I know that these things happen. But it is quite expensive for what it is and I found the cramped room and noise annoying. I had decided to give this place another go after my last poor experience but I think that I probably wouldn’t go again although my parents love the food!

Firstly came with wrong drinks and then of the meals wasn’t what we ordered. Barmaid said she only just come on shift and didn’t seem to know what food consisted of. Seemed like she had been drinking in bar all afternoon which was a bit worrying

Ordered 2 veggie roasts when booking online but they had none when we got there. Food was ok but pricey for what it was like the beer. Waitress was very nice. Won’t be rushing back.
