Lunch menu was varied and delicious. We were not rushed or pestered. A fantastic place to take my business colleagues, overlooking Clifford's Tower. Thoroughly recommended.

Good menu range. Food hot & well presented. Good lively atmosphere. Prompt service. Queries dealt with quickly. No hurtying or rushing. Reasonably priced. Good evening all round.

So very glad to see The Olive Tree fully recovered after the floods earlier in the year. As always, every mouthful was an utter delight.

An impressive and tempting menu. Our meals were delicious and beautifully presented. The service was first class. We were particularly impressed with the chef who made the point of asking us if we were happy with the food. Our first visit but not our last.

Very welcoming. Good Mediterranean atmosphere. Great service. We all had 3 courses. Myself partner and daughter. Probably one of the best meals we have had. I loved the Yorkshire Beef and Stilton My partner chose the lobster ravioli with cray fish tails. She nearly ate the plate Cheesecake after was exquisite. Well recommend Cost just under £ 90.00 with wine 3 of us but well worth the visit.

I had no problem booking a table. The food was first class and the staff were very friendly. Will not hesitate to go back again. It was our wedding anniversary and they didn' t dissapoint. It is my wife's favourite restaurant in York

Superb food with first class service. Always enjoy going to this restaurant when we visit York. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a nice place to eat.

The meal overall was average. It came quick but felt over priced. One of the meals that we ordered did not come with what was stated on the menu - missing asparagus and replacing it with green beans. The second meal did not have fresh pasta as I assumed it would have and felt slightly overcooked! Overall the meal was okay but do believe we overpaid for what we ordered. Saying that, the staff we friendly and the atmosphere was lovely.

Delicious food in lovely surroundings. Staff very attentive and sensitive - were happy to allow a group of friends the time to have a leisurely meal and a catch-up. Thank you.

Wow! absolutely amazing! First of all, I'm quite the picky eater and that was before pregnancy! But nothing was a problem in the slightest I had so much choice of what I could have that wasn't even advertised on the menu ie; range of sauces, with or without extras etc! Meal was made to perfection! 👌🏼 my partner also said the same about his fish medley. When booking I put a comment saying 'birthday meal' and without me even knowing they bought out a dessert for my partners whose birthday it was with a sparkler! The waiters really made the evening and worked their socks off. If visiting York again I would 100% go there, and I am going to recommend to friends!

Service wasn't that great they forgot our drinks and dropped cutlery on me. Table was in a bad cramped position. But the food was good

When we checked into our hotel the concierge asked what we had planned for the evening. When I told him we had a reservation at the Olive Tree his response was ' Ooh, a very good choice, I've been several times and it is excellent'. We were not disappointed; the food was amazing and the service was superb. The staff were attentive but not overly fussy, the wine was excellent and we were given a free liqueur after our meal. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone visiting York.

Brilliant experience with excellent food, great atmosphere, attentive service and real value for money. Would highly recommend to anybody. Also great views overlooking Clifford's tower. Will be returning soon.

Absolutely lovely restaurant in a great location just outside of Clifford's Tower. It has great food, I would recommend the paella and nice atmosphere, great service, would highly recommend to anyone.

The staff are very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious it was the best seafood risotto I've had for a long time! The warm and welcoming atmosphere at The Olive Tree makes me want to visit again soon

We were very pleased we had our small family reunion at the Olive Tree. We were greeted warmly and given time to settle ourselves, before being served with fantastic fresh rolls and balsamic oil. The food was well cooked and the staff attentive but not intrusive. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The food was absolutely gorgeous, I had the steak and it melted like butter. We received a lovely warm welcome from the wonderful staff, and the actual cost of the food was very reasonable. Highly recommend, and the next time I'm in York I will be definitely going again.

Had a lovely meal the service was good we have been several times and highly recommend. You do need to book as the resturant gets very busy they also do a nice lunch at dinnertime

Went for my daughters 25th birthday celebration. A warm friendly greeting and excellent service throughout the meal. Even the Chef came to each table to say hello and check we had enjoyed our food. The choice was good, portions were good and the quality was excellent. I had Duck, which is difficult to do well and is often overcooked. Mine was succulent and tender with an orange garnish and ju. The others in our party all enjoyed their meals and would all recommend the Olive Tree. I will definitely come here again.

We had a lovely time the staff were excellent and the meal was outstanding we had a starter main desert and coffees and thought the price was very reasonable for the time we had thank you very much will be booking again

Always a very good reliable restaurant with very good food and service. We had a window seat with a great view of Clifford Tower for me, usually I am looking at a wall :-)

This restaurant is alittle bonkers, a big mix up of things, with crazy staff not quiet knowing what was going on themselves, food was ok, but just ok, certainly nothing special.

Nice variety of food. We went on a Tuesday so was fairly quiet. Food was tasty and warm. We really enjoyed the complementary home made bread.

We went to the Olive Tree and experienced, Pleasant service, nice food, wide ranging menu. Not too noisy, easy parking. What more could I ask for ?

lovely food good service at a time when they were especially busy. Booking was essential. very pleasant surroundings would deffinatley visit again. local parking in the castle car park was a bonus.

Waiters were not very attentive considering the restaurant was empty. Starter was delicious but the main fell a little flat as it was too salty. Avoid the lamb stew.
