More about the restaurant: The Phoenix

Born from the ashes of a pub that burned down, The Phoenix on the corner of Wellington Street and Little Queen Street brings a touch of Yorkshire charm to Leeds city centre. A bar with a superb British menu, they offer breakfast, sandwiches, pies and meats from the grill alongside an ever-rotating range of local ales, a huge wine list and an inventive and extensive cocktail list. A welcome addition to the Leeds dining scene.

Thinking about making a The Phoenix booking?

Yorkshire is known as a hotbed of great British food and drinks, and in the county’s largest city of Leeds, there is a new venue that follows in this great tradition. The Phoenix – named in reference to a previous establishment owned by the same people that was unfortunately consumed by fire – is a rebuilt, re-energised bar on Wellington Street in the city centre with a menu that showcases the best in local British cuisine.

British food – and local Yorkshire products in particular – take pride of place at The Phoenix on Wellington Street. Their black pudding is from Ilkley, so are their pork pies and sausages; their bread comes from nearby Otley, and their smoked salmon from Northallerton. This city centre bar menu is heavy on British favourites: fish’n’chips feature, as do English breakfasts and of course, pies. If you head down to The Phoenix, you can be sure of a full Yorkshire feed, with big flavours, big portions and no messing around.
