Service was attentive without being overbearing. The menu had a small but enticing choice and the courses were beautifully presented and tasted just as good 👌🏻

Charming staff and beautiful food in lovely surroundings on a great street in York. There perhaps could have been more choice for vegetarians. We have already booked a return trip.

We had a Great Sunday lunch yesterday at The Rattle Ole. The food was good and the restaurant had a nice bustling atmosphere with good staff.

As always the food was brilliant, innovative and expertly cooked and presented. I cannot for the life of me understand why they insist (by including it on every bill) that customers subscribe to their chosen charity? I suggest that many reluctant customers will acquiesce rather than face the embarrassment of asking for this small sum to be removed. If they wish to indulge themselves in this virtue signalling why not tell customers that they donate 50p to their charity each time a customer pays a bill? I do not try to force the Rattle Owl people to subscribe to my favourite charity and nor should they. It is an impertinence.
