We were in the garden room and it was very cold we had to keep our coats in ...we asked to move twice but was told no tables were available

Food was good as always and the staff are very helpful..

Can't fault the Red Lion. From those front of house to the bar staff to those bringing out the food to the chefs behind the scenes. Brilliant atmosphere every time. Well worth it.

Excellent food & good choice of Beer. The Mixed grill is one of the best in the region with the Fish Pakora amazing! The Lamb Claypot was excellent too! A few issues with the QR app. Only ordered 1 x Masala Chips but 3 x portions arrived for which we had to pay for & our lager arrived with blackcurrant as the blackcurrant box was already ticked in the app. We informed the manager who kindly gave us 2 more drinks on the house.

Food took quite while to come out which I know was busy but took longer than expected I’ve been there on other occasions and the large mixed grill was definitely smaller this time with less meat on there than usually

This is the 2nd time I’ve noticed the portion of whatever curry is ordered, the amount of the portions have decreased and the prices in turn have increased. Although the quality is right up there. This pub is usually the first choice when it comes to food but I may have to drop it down to 3rd amongst my selection of go to pub foods.

We visit here quite regularly but this time we had friends over from New Zealand who visited here for the first time, and absolutely loved it!

Lovely shame you get looked at horribly for asking for containers to take your food home. We had loads of left overs as we ordered lots to try. I don’t mind paying for containers …. Just don’t look down on people

It was odd separating drinks and food bill. Staff was forceful and had to change my food order three times due to lack of vegan food. Food arrived, my order was not my order but I ate it anyway as couldn’t be bothered to talk to staff again.

We were able to move table as it was a bit draughty on our original table and my 87 years old mom could feel it. We got moved straight away. Food was excellent a good night was had by all.in our party.

I ordered a curry pillau rice and keema naan and they brought the curry pillau rice and keema rice out I said I didn’t order keema rice I asked for a keema naan which the waitress said I didn’t and refused to change it so I had to pay separately for naan bread which is out of order especially when I always order the same food and I did not order keema rice
