There were several items not on the menu listed. The staff were pleasant but far from professional. The menu cards were unclean.

Service slow. Appeared staff shortage. Waiting staff pleasant, but roast beef lunch, beef tough, overcooked, tasteless carrots, poorly roasted potatoes. We left dissatisfied without dessert or coffee.

First visit since the change of management/re-decoration. Staff were warm and welcoming. The menu offered a good selection of gluten free options, as well as vegetarian/vegan choices also. There was a small delay in taking our drinks order but it arrived promptly, the wait once we had ordered our food was slightly longer but the restaurant was busy. I asked for a gluten free options and was brought the non gluten free version this was quickly rectified. Cauliflower cheese was served as part of the vegetables I had to ask if this was gluten free, it wasn't, but I feel I should have been told and not need to ask. The food was very well cooked and presented and excellent value. Looking forward to our next visit.

We hadn't been to the Royal Oak for a good long while however we are thrilled that we did. There were six adults and the waiter took all of our menu and drink choices to memory. Fabulous service and the food was incredible. So good that we've booked for Easter Sunday and we can't wait! Well done to everyone at the Royal Oak.

Service was good but food was average - chips were from frozen and pasta was dry. Steak not great either and not rare as ordered.

We were greeted in a friendly and efficient way and shown our table, which was set up ready for us. We ordered and were served drinks at the bar. Menus were on the table and we could see the ‘specials’ board. There was a good choice and as far as we could tell, everything was available. The food was excellent and the portions were a good size. We did have to attract the waiting staff to our table to place our food orders, both for the main course and for the dessert, but the service was friendly.

We had a very nice pub lunch with my very elderly Dad. The food was good, and it was nice to be able to sit in the old stables where the atmosphere was quiet and relaxed so he could follow the conversation easily and not be distracted by lots of coming and going. The service was prompt and friendly and the food was very tasty. The smaller portions for older people is a great idea. Many thanks.

To start with, I think we were forgotten about once we were seated, as no one came to our table to take any drink order for 20 min. Husband then got up to order from the bar and brought our drinks. We waited for a little longer and someone did come and take our order eventually. That was the not so good bit. The really great bit was the food. It was amazing and made up for the not so great service. Roast dinner was excellent value for money with the nicest gravy I have ever tasted. I will definitely be returning and would recommend eating at The Royal Oak. In fairness the weather was ridiculously hot and the staff must have been exhausted in the heat, so having to wait 20 mins for an order to be taken is not really that bad in the great scheme of things. Overall a great meal and lovely location.
