One of my favourite places, fantastic food and friendly atmosphere with great views of the river.

Great service, tasty food and lovely staff. Highly recommend all round.

Visited for lunch with a group of work colleagues. Service was okay if a little slow. Food was mediocre, expected a really chunky chicken sandwich but received standard bread from a packet which was dry on the top, could only assume it had been left on the side for a while. Wasn’t informed prior to ordering that certain items from the menu were not available. Disappointing. I feel the Saxon Mill could do much better. The standard of food does not reflect the quality of the refurb.

Great place. Atrocious service. Nobody seems to know what they’re doing

Service was very slow, not enough staff on. Food was lovely as was the ambience of sitting outside (even though attacked by wasps). To be honest we will be hesitant to rush back due to the lack of service.

Our table was booked for 7.30pm. We ordered drinks and food and by 8.15pm we still hadn’t received our drinks. When we asked the waiter he apologised and said that our drinks and food orders hadn’t gone through so had to order again. By this time some dishes and drinks were no longer available. We finally got our drinks and food at 8.45pm. The waiter was very apologetic and we were given free drinks. However, I wouldn’t rush back here anytime soon. A dis’s appointment as we were celebrating a birthday.

It was alright. Nothing more. Not sure I’d recommend it.

Fantastic location with good food and warm and welcoming staff

We live in the south our son in the north find it a good half way point to meet to swop grandson over. Our waitress was very cheerful friendly and helpful. Food good choice and was good . everywhere was clean

It was a half way point for meeting relatives handy as not far from M6. They had had problems as they had been flooded and restaurant was out of commission but they were using a function room as a restaurant which was very nice. Staff very welcoming and friendly. food good
