It’s not much of a trek up to Winterbourne from Bristol city, and it’s worth the trip if you’re looking for the best smoky,meaty action this side of the Wild West. The Smokehouse Saloon is based at popular pub The Swan in Winterbourne up on the High Street, and has taken the frontier theme to the extreme, with upcycled scaffolding planks and pallets used throughout the restaurant to create a rustic, DIY look that perfectly suits a steakhouse of this calibre. Specialising in prime steaks smoked meats like pulled pork, brisket, jalapeno-studded link sausages, barbecued baby back ribs, St Louis-style pork and beef flat ribs, The Smokehouse Saloon should be firmly pinned to the gustatory map of any Wild West England carnivore.
Lovely food, plenty of it, very friendly waiting staff. Nice setting the only thing it needed was a few more customers to create some atmosphere .
Really big portions, nice food with a variety of meat choices. We sat in the restaurant initially but it was cold so we moved into the bar which was warmer.
