The Smokey Cow

Our waitress wasn’t great, and the food not as good as last time we ate! A few mistakes with our order, and nothing quite hot enough unfortunately. We did inform our waitress and a few things were changed, but still not great. Once we had finished eating, we moved into the bar for a drink and enjoyed this part of our evening the most! Barmaid quick and helpful.

It was our first time eating at Smokey Cow and we really enjoyed it

Tasty dishes, good portions and attentive service. Atmosphere could do with some plants and seat cushions to soften the main restaurant as it feels a too bit open like a workplace canteen.

main couse Salmon too small..main couse sirloin steak very good.. desserts terrible give them a miss

Sunday lunch Dried up roasters tough pork treackle tart thick sickly usually my favourite I couldn't eat it starters more like a small main course soup ok best bit wouldn't go again big let don't of the meal

I would highly recommend. Everything about this pub/ restaurant. Welcoming/friendly staff in tasteful stylish setting. Food excellent. Will definitely visit again.

Lovely venue , great staff , cracking food well presented. The one downside is that it is a very noisy environment due to poor acoustics in the room , too many hard surfaces and nothing to help dampen the noise , it requires some sort of help to quieten it down .

The meal not what we expected. First time dining here and the burger was overcooked. The steak was full of fat making it difficult to eat. My partners food was overcooked which resembles more like a burnt BBQ. Beautiful place to go for drinks, very clean and staff are attentive to their customers.

Disappointing evening. Room was cold - real log burner as the focal point and not on even though 3 degrees outside. Plates for starter cold and couldn’t get to the bar as customers sitting in front of it.

Fantastic food and service,bit noisy thou when music came on,couldnt hear yourself speak to each other.

My partners chips were extremely salty and he didnt eat them. The restaurant was very noisy with loud music and a lit of children running around. However the service and the rest of the food was good. Perhaps chips (with burger ) shouldn’t come pre salted?

The food was lovely. However, our table was by the open kitchen lots of activity by our table.

Lovely evening as always - the staff are all excellent

Fantastic food - really tasty and different from your typical restaurant. Staff were lovely and service was quick. The only slight downfall, was our table being positioned right by the kitchen - where the shouting of orders/slamming of plates on the metal surface was so loud we couldn’t hear each other’s conversation at times.

Tasty food, I went with the veggi option jackfruit and beans mighty yummy snack. Assistant manager was serving that day, lovely chap happy too help.

Fabulous meal and enjoyed by us all ! We ordered from the main menu but the Christmas menu food that was coming out of the kitchen looked wonderful. An extremely busy evening for the staff but all managed to stay smiling and always polite. Well done the smokey cow we will be returning

Generally very good for a new restaurant. Staff were attentive and thorough, atmosphere and setting were great but the food was very, very mixed with a huge range between barely edible (ribs and pie) and outstanding (chicken, roulade, any of the burgers). My suggestion would be to shrink the menu to concentrate on continuing the good things well. I'm sure we'll visit again if we're local.

A lovely evening... food great. One waitress needs to smile but apart from her lack of Christmas spirit then all was good. Singers were good, although a bit too loud for us to hear each other talk. Definitely be visiting again.

Wet gd was chilly and waitress found me a warmer table food and service very good enjoyed

Visited for my sons 18th Birthday meal, staff were lovely and food was excellent would definitely recommend and we will return.

Food was delicious good portion sizes and well presented, great service staff very attentive.

Service a little slow, wrong starter mains delivered to table, had to ask for cutlery for each course, waitress not sure on food items when asked. The bill was wrong and took a while to sort. Food was nice and good value once charge correctly. Understand it’s newly opened so a few teething troubles, which I’m sure with extra training it will be sorted - will visit again in a few months to see if any better.

Fantastic refurb - you wouldn’t recognise the place. Food was excellent.

Very noisy, but perhaps we belong to a generation that likes it a bit quieter. The food however was so good and value for money. A good night
