Very noisy. Took a while to get served and the food was quite average unfortunately.
Very good food, friendly service with a smile. What is not to like?
Lovely decor. Waitress's skills were a little limited but everyone has to start somewhere. Food was mediocre.
Fantastic all round great place vegan menu great as well
The food was lovely and so was the service. It was very noisy with customers drinking at the bar, we were seated by the kitchen, was difficult to have a conversation at times because of the noise levels.
3rd time there now and cant fault it, Staff are great and chloe was our waitress and what a lovely pleasant young lady she is. We will definitely be back keep up the good work. Mr & mrs lloyd
Very nice food but very poor service from both waitresses.
Nice food great fish pie Great ribs my son had roast chicken dinner big portions witch was great
Great food and atmosphere. Will be back again!! Thank you.
Very enjoyable, food was excellent, the dining room can be a bit ' echoey' but we had a lovely evening. Will definitely be back x
Good food and good service, a really enjoyable evening. Thank you
The food wasn’t very hot and I didn’t consider it value for money (£13.95), such a small amount on the plate we had to ask for more veg. Only 2 roast potatoes isn’t enough on a Sunday lunch, the gravy hardly visible so asked for more and another small amount came, it’s not like it’s expensive to produce!
Not overly busy when we got there, but no one welcomed us. We had to stand waiting at the bar for quite a while. Although there were staff there, there was only one person who seemed to know what was going on, the rest were very young and inexperienced. The food was ok, I ordered potato skins and got one which was very tasty but surely that's a skin not skins. The wings were really good - though we ordered a large plate to share we had explained that one of our party didn't like blue cheese and we were told that wouldn't be an issue. When the wings arrived they were sitting in a puddle of blue cheese. We were asked if we minded the pie coming with gravy, we said no as long as there wasn't loads - it was smothered. Why not put it in a jug on the side and then you can put on as much or as little as you like? Plate of fresh veg consisted of rings of sweetcorn, frozen peas and carrots - not sure I would class those as fresh. Also found the atmosphere lacking, but that could be down to the day and time of our visit. I have been to other pubs in the chain and really enjoyed the experience, hence our visit. I shall go back to give it another try, but in my opinion it didn't feel as though it was quite ready to open for business.
We had a wonderful evening on our first visit . Really excellent food and service with great live music . I love the refurbishment of the old Seven Stars ... Well done guys !!!
Service was very slow. Tables too close together, waitress’s bottom in our face when dealing with the table next to us. Food was very good though.
Really enjoyed our evening at the Smokey Cow. as we were leaving a duo were setting up as our table was right next to the speakers e were very pleased we had eaten earlier.
Everything was great except my treacle tart was served cold with ice cream so wasn't as enjoyable than if it had been heated up.
Great atmosphere and excellent service, food not bad but equally not good so... average.
Good food staff very friendly and helpful I would definitely book again thank you.
Service and food excellent- will certainly visit again very soon
Good menu selection, lovely food and friendly staff. Thank you.
Fabulous night with entertainment thrown in! Extremely busy, had bit of a wait for table but staff were so nice, did their best to reassure us, would definitely pay a revisit
The restaurant is generally noisy due to there being no soft furnishings to absorb it but the live music was far too loud for a restaurant. Great if just in a pub drinking but not when you're hoping to catch up with those you've gone out to dinner with.
First time visiting The Smokey Cow and the food was great! The front of house team where very friendly and really welcomed us and our dog
Great location, service was excellent, food was absolutely spot on .
Lovely cosy place , very friendly staff. Quiet at lunchtime mid week but food was delicious. Will definitely return. :-)
I like a cosy feel and the open plan makes the acoustics feel rather like a dinner hall, i feel would benefit from doors to side of fire place at least to 1 side anyway. Enjoyable evening, will be returning, my daughter will be pleased that there is somewhere more contemporary to bring her friends. Staff were lovely.
