The Stag Hotel has been in existence since the 19th century, providing vittles, refreshments and accommodation for many a wayfarer making their way through Hampshire’s verdant New Forest. This Lyndhurst institution towards the eastern end of the town centre, close to where the High Street intersects with Gosport Lane, and these days is in possession of much the same remit. The menu has modernised somewhat, but still offers robust British cuisine at good prices, alongside a well-curated selection of real ales, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. Every Friday night the pub hosts live music, and The Stag is a great place to base yourself for a holiday in the countryside.
