Fantastic food, drink and service. Absolute gem of a Cotswold pub. Lovely Italian themed food. Ascott village is lucky to have such a great local.
Absolutely brilliant pub. We were astonished that it was so quiet when all other pubs seemed fully booked. Sunday 12.45 and we had the lovely beer garden all to our selves-fab for the children! Massive very tasty stone baked pizzas and the best Sunday roast ever. Honestly. Service was brilliant too. The decor inside is lovely and there is a free pool table. In sum, an excellent find. Will be returning as soon as we can.
The food was good and reasonable priced. Decor lovely. As it is my own village pub/ restaurant I do not feel a particularly warm personal welcome and can't believe they do not have a a soda option on the mixers, it is popular wth lime and soda, orange and soda and as I required it with wine and soda.
Super venue, friendly staff. The service was fairly slow but then we were not in a rush, so that was fine. Food was yummy. Overall a positive experience.
The food was delicious. The portions were on the generous side, maybe too generous. We started with a tomato bruschetta and had a prawn pasta and fish dish for our mains.
Friendly and helpful staff though they could perhaps been more proactive. Food was good but portions too large. A neighbouring table of two ladies wisely chose to share a pizza. My glass of Sauvignon Blanco was very good.
Pleasant surroundings, great, attentive staff. Whole family agreed this was the best Italian meal we have had on UK soil. Pricing fair. Would highly recommend.
Good service and lovely fresh food. Kids portions available of everything on the menu, which allowed for great choice. Would definitely visit again when in the area.
We were disappointed to see the whole place empty...this does not feel like a village pub at Sunday lunchtime. I would think you need to work that one out - but it should be thriving and jolly. The food was great.
This is definitely a pub that service food and there was a lack of staff towards the end of the evening and it took 20 minutes to get someone to take money! My fish was over cooked but the other mains and the starters were good. There is no resturant area, and given the website I was expecting one. Overall it is not one I will be returning to.
