In Ballygawley, a very charming part of Dungannon that radiates plenty of village charm, The Tailor’s House is a bar and restaurant offering some of the finest contemporary British cuisine we know of. Really, from the quality of the ingredients used through to cooking techniques, and the way each and every dish looks beautiful and tastes exquisite, The Tailor’s House, Ballygawley is carving its own path as a British restaurant that should be at the top of anyone’s must-visit list. You’ll find it on Main Street where you simply have to make a reservation in advance.
People occasionally have difficulty describing what exactly modern gourmet British food ought to be. To those people we say head to The Tailor’s House, Ballygawley, and allow the chefs to show you. Allow them to prepare for you a roast loin of wild Irish venison with squash puree, braised red cabbage, blackberries and potato fondant. Or, request a roast fillet of smoked Irish cod with roasted leeks, poached hen’s egg and a grain mustard veloute. After either of these dishes, or indeed any other from The Tailor’s House menu, you’ll be in no doubt as to what true British cuisine is.
You’ll find The Tailor’s House on Main Street, as we say, and it’s an elegant restaurant that strikes the right balance between rustic and contemporary. Light and airy yet always cosy, it’s one of the most pleasant dining spaces in Dungannon that lends itself perfectly to the food being served. Remember that The Tailor’s House, Ballygawley is also a bar, meaning you can expect an impressive selection of fine wine among much else to complement your food. We adore The Tailor’s House and we’re certain you will as well. A reservation here will be the best thing you do all week.
Visited on a Saturday night. Restaurant was buzzing. Great atmosphere. No waiting to be seated. Food was lovely. Staff were very attentive without overdoing it. Will definitely return.
First visit to The Tailor's House in Ballygawley for a meal. We visited for lunch. The online booking was so convenient & seamless! Warm, welcoming atmosphere & friendly staff on arrival. The stir fry I ordered was a little dry for my liking but I did choose the healthy option shouldn't really complain & it was lovely. We cleared our plates! The menu is extensive with vegetarian choices, main meals & light bites. As well as lunch & evening menu they offer a breakfast menu also. Great wee spot. I'll definitely be back & will spread the word!
Amazing food, brilliant service, excellent value for money. Mary & Jackie made my partners birthday. Thank-you so much, lovely restaurant cannot fault it. Must visit!
Four adults out for a birthday meal. First time to tailors house and very impressed. Fabulous tasty food and plenty of it. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely loved our dinner here! Food was so good, I've been telling everyone. The girls who were on staff at the time were also lovely. Very friendly, helpful and great with our toddler. Even taking her for a little walk while we ate our dinner! Fantastic service overall. Will be back and will be highly recommending. Thank You!
The Tailor House was amazing! Staff were helpful and friendly. Food was top class, as we sat by the open fire on a frosty night. We also stayed in their B&B and the rooms were modern clean and cosy, will definitely stay again.
Food was excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. 2nd time there and will certinally be returning. Nice quite atmosphere with fine dining food but at proper size portions.
Great food, good service and a nice atmosphere. Reasonably price. I would recommend to anyone looking for either a romantic meal or a family occasion.
This was an excellent service restaurant, kind staff, very prompt service time and good food, slightly pricey but overall very good and would not mind returning at all.
Menu offered on the night was not as advertised on the website. Menu offered was very average pub food. No pigeon, venison, scallops, shoulder of lamb, salmon, cod or most of what is listed on website.
