People occasionally have difficulty describing what exactly modern gourmet British food ought to be. To those people we say head to The Tailor’s House, Ballygawley, and allow the chefs to show you. Allow them to prepare for you a roast loin of wild Irish venison with squash puree, braised red cabbage, blackberries and potato fondant. Or, request a roast fillet of smoked Irish cod with roasted leeks, poached hen’s egg and a grain mustard veloute. After either of these dishes, or indeed any other from The Tailor’s House menu, you’ll be in no doubt as to what true British cuisine is.
You’ll find The Tailor’s House on Main Street, as we say, and it’s an elegant restaurant that strikes the right balance between rustic and contemporary. Light and airy yet always cosy, it’s one of the most pleasant dining spaces in Dungannon that lends itself perfectly to the food being served. Remember that The Tailor’s House, Ballygawley is also a bar, meaning you can expect an impressive selection of fine wine among much else to complement your food.
