About The Koh-i-Noor

Where in-the-know locals head for exceptional curries and Indian delicacies, The Koh-i-Noor is a true gem of a restaurant. Found on Chepstow Road in Mainde, the folks behind this restaurant are dedicated to serving authentic, Indian food the way it should be: natural, fresh, and packed with flavour. From classic curries like chicken korma to signatures including their Malayan tikka masala, murgh rezala or our favourite, the decadent lobster samarkand with pulaw rice and naan bread. There are plenty of vegetarian restaurants here, plus naan bread wraps for diners who prefer their food to be nice and compact. Koh-i-Noor’s menu is extensive, so there’s plenty more to look out for. See for yourself by booking a table in advance at this Newport classic.

Food was of a very high quality nan breads were the best I've had, great staff made myself and my group feel very welcome. Good to see the new owners have kept some of the original features the Koch I nor is renowned for.
