However, despite its charming, ivy-clad exterior and historic stone walls, you realise as soon as you peruse hands-down Denstone’s best menu that there is nothing outdated about The Tavern. Championing fresh British produce and supporting Staffordshire producers, The Tavern is right at the cutting-edge of contemporary cuisine, with some superb grub to go alongside real ales, fine wines and other offerings from the bar.
Sitting in The Tavern’s sunny beer garden or chic, contemporary conservatory, you might catch sight of Denstone delivery men arriving to College Road – the local butcher provides meat, vegetables arrive fresh every day, and the finest fresh fish is all you’ll find on The Tavern’s plates.
