About The Tea Rooms
More about the restaurant: The Tea Rooms
We’re on the wrong side of the Atlantic and the wrong age to be worried about J Edgar Hoover and his Prohibition enforcers busting us for enjoying a cuppa ‘tea’ that’s a little too high for propriety. Still, when Southport and Birkdale residents are after a classy tipple they head to The Tea Rooms on Liverpool Road to quiz the bartenders. Thankfully this wine bar, restaurant and coffee shop doesn’t have to hide in the shadows – it is in fact a bright and warm venue offering healthy breakfasts and lunches as well as a more suitably twilight offering of beer, wine and cocktails. There’s a lot of tapas going on at The Tea Rooms, too, with charcuterie and cheese boards for two, patatas bravas with chorizo, hot piri piri prawns and more meeting homemade pizzas head on. Best part though is the chance to curate your own cocktail – ask the friendly team’s behind the bar to guide you through the art.
