The 4 of us had a really enjoyable Sunday lunch and the food and service was first class. There were a few issues with our main courses which the Manageress handled superbly, professionally and sensitively. We shall definitely return.

For the first time, food was average especially lemon sorbet which had a rubbery texture. We were also sat in an outside area on our own which was not what we booked or wanted.

Great location, great menus, great service, deliciously tasty food! We’ll be back!

Felt overpriced especially crab soup at £10.95. I know tough times but massive price increase since last visit. I accept big portion but only brown crab meat. Sandwiches very good value but drinks prices at the very top - £4.90 for Landlord more than pay anywhere else. Used to be regulars but feel they are pushing too far. Lots better value elsewhere.

We joined friends for a catch up over Sunday lunch. It was very busy both inside & out. The pizzas looked delicious but we were there for Sunday roast & it didn’t disappoint. The staff were very friendly & efficient. Portion control was generous, with plenty of choice & our service was very good & quick particularly bearing in mind how busy it was. Situated in a pretty little village, it’s well worth finding.

First time visit… lovely friendly staff, nice decor…. Would have liked the option as to where we could sit…. Was quite warm on a hot day inside! Food was of a good standard although cauliflower cheese was overdone. Fantastic beef served pink! Perfect! Due to social distancing it’s difficult to score for atmosphere ( quite rightly)… will definitely be back to try other dishes…

We visited The Tickled Trout whilst on a staycation in Yorkshire. The food was excellent, the staff were friendly and attentive, there's a good choice of well kept local beers and an interesting wine list. We had a table indoors in a cool, quiet airy room with well spaced tables and covid protocols being followed. A great place to eat.

Lovely country feel with fab food and a great atmosphere. The staff are warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Absolutely fantastic, we could not fault anything. The food was exceptional, and with some incredible surprises! The service was unbelievable, what lovely people, smiling service and great personalities. We will be back the sooner the better.

Food, venue and value excellent. However very much let down by service. Initial greeting when we arrived “Your early” !! Asked for a bottle of water - never arrived. Asked for some more drinks - never arrived and we had nearly finished our meal when we were able to remind someone. Nobody came and asked us if everything was ok or if we needed anything else. At the end of the meal a guy kept coming round the corner to presumably see if we had gone. That was very off putting and everyone in our party found it annoying. We therefore felt we needed to leave. Our first time here although we have booked to go back in a few weeks. Whether this is our final visit remains to be seen.

We had an early booking 6.30 as I thought it was either that or 8.30. The food was excellent though we felt quite rushed by the staff to order then both courses arrived very quickly.

Pubs back, everything excellent. for 20 years this pub has a different owners with different outcomes, it’s right back there now at the very top . Full marks to all of those young enthusiastic dedicated serving staff as well as everything else British people working hard.

This was our first visit to The Tickled Trout and we were very much looking forward to it. Sadly we were very disappointed. We were put on a table which wasn’t suitable for three - I had a huge leg in the middle to contend with. Once we had ordered we were never asked once if everything was ok, if we’d like another drink - we did! We sat for over half an hour with dirty plates in front of us once we had finished. There were a lot of staff and many of them obviously wanted to talk to the regulars/ locals. We were totally ignored. Eventually got the bill but again after waiting I gave up for someone to come to us with a terminal and went to the bar to pay. Food was average but service terrible.

Delicious food, service slightly fumbled but did not spoil the overall experience and would definitely return. Accommodation was exceptional

Reason for low score on service is due to one member of staff who said they would come back with the day's specials and then didn't. All other staff extremely friendly and attentive.

Staff were very nice indeed. The actual menu fell short of the menu on the Net. Very nice experience to be out after lockdown, and allowance has got to be made for this when cost and proft pressures are acute. Keep going and thank you.

Very wet day but was very organised and nice and warm with outside heaters and blankets staff were amazing as always this was my 3rd visit and we have re booked again for christmas day
