Food was excellent. I feel they are selling themselves short with current decor

Lovely meal & good service. Will definitely go again. Shame it wasn’t a little busier - we were the only people in the whole pub. Lovely log fire, cosy on a winters night.

We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome & seated near the fire which was perfect on a cold November day. The very generous roast was cooked to perfection with six empty plates to show how tasty it was! Staff were friendly & attentive, we will definitely return.

The food is good and served in sensible portions - ie not too much. You feel satisfied without being over full. Friendly and helpful staff.

Great food selection and very tasty too. Friendly, if slightly erratic service. Welcoming bar area with a good range of drinks. We really enjoyed our evening.

Good service & great food, would definitely go here again & recommend others try this lovely local pub. Good entertainment with the singer being on too.

Food very good, service very friendly. Eclectic menu which perhaps needs to have a clearer focus - e.g. dumplings which were not dumplings but actually very good ravioli. Newly re-opened and deserves to succeed!

I have been meaning to try this pub for a long while as I pass it alot. So being my husband's birthday I decided this was a perfect opportunity. I am so glad I choose here to have such a special occasion. The food was even better then we have had at places like the mill hotel and even the siege house. And the service was impeccable! Definitely new customers gained on a regular basis. Lauren Rogers

Food is VERY good! The new layout of the bar in the back and the restaurant separate is good, but just need to make sure there is someone checking front of house to look after customers eating who may want drink top ups etc.

Average, lack of atmosphere as very quiet but passionate hosts. I think the evening is probably very different to lunchtime. Good selection on the menu

Friendly front of house, speed of service ok, choice of wine a little limited, but the main problem is simply that the food is awful as well as being over priced compared with other restaurants in Colchester. They say never re-visit memories and in this instance it's true. This Treble Tile is not a patch on the old one I am afraid. Unless things improve dramatically we will not be returning.

The service is very friendly and good. We had a nice meal, with quite a lot of choice on the menu, although perhaps not enough for vegetarians.

One of the best roasts we've ever had! Sat in the secluded beer garden and finished off with a lovely dessert. Excellent service as well, always with a smile on their face.

The food and service was excellent! It was also a bonus to be able to take our dog with us! The only slight disappointment was that there were on,y two other couples dining so it felt rather empty 😢

Shown to our table and then left for 30 minutes without being offered a drink or even given a menu. The restaurant was full but they clearly didn’t have enough staff so we left without eating

This was our first visit since the refurbishment, big improvement, but still retains it’s individually. It wasn’t very busy, it was a Thursday evening, so lacked a little in the atmospheric stacks, the ‘lift music’ didn’t add anything!! The service was very attentive and courses weren’t rushed out, which suited us as it was nice to chat over a leisurely meal, but the wait didn’t seem too long, so well balanced. Bread would have been a nice touch. The food was very nicely presented, and on the whole very good, I had the tempura cod, which wasn’t wonderful, small and dry, the steak didn’t come automatically with chips, the duck didn’t come with potato or anything similar and chips are the only extra available, plus you are adding to the cost of meal. Pudding choice is small and one item ordered by one of our party was unavailable, also all the items on the specials board, were on the menu. Overall I would recommend a visit and will certainly go again.

The treble tile was very nice in it,s environment, service and taste of food. The only down side for us was the portion size. They were very small. The chicken Thai curry was tasty but only 3 pieces of chicken. The steak and chips, tasty but again small portions. Otherwise it was enjoyable

Was disappointed with food. Not cheap and served up frozen chips. Restaurant was cold and the smell of paint was quite high. Service was good but need to up the quality of food.

Lovely roast dinner on Easter Sunday, fresh vegetables and good value for money. It wasn't busy which was a shame as the atmosphere suffered. The staff however were very attentive and a great start to a 'soft' reopening. I will return again for an evening meal.

Food ok but portions ridiculous. A la carte menu but s dessert spoon on mashed potato. Little alternative food choices and no atmosphere either. Will never go back. Forgot to add that it is expensive for what it is trying to be.

Great sunday roast and lovely desert. The staff were really friendly too. Don't get put off by the decor as it doesn't match up to the service or quality of food

Really friendly staff. Good food but the portion sizes are small for a standard pub Sunday roast and the rest of the menu choice is very limited. The desserts seem somewhat over priced. Considering there was only two other tables occupied, the waiting time was poor. Nice bathrooms but the rest of the building is quite dilapidated. Unlikely to visit again.

Loved it but sadly we were the only table in on a Friday evening - admittedly in January which is a quiet month but the place should be buzzing. Food was great, nice menu, friendly service. People need to support this place so we dont lose it. The owner has great plans for the future!
