Some country pubs stand on top of years of grand tradition, but some are a little bit different. The story behind The Wharf Inn is a little different: Mark & Kelly Phillips bought the pub back in 2011 in a moment of self-described madness, when it was in something of a state of disrepair. Their first job was to get the building and the decor back up to scratch, followed by making it a place that people would like to spend their time and hard-earned cash. They’ve achieved that and more, expanding the pub they inherited to include a full menu of British pub grub classics, a bar filled with traditional ales and ciders and even accommodation, so that travellers to Holt on the outskirts of Worcester have a comfortable place to stay. Book a table in the restaurant, or a room for the night, and make a trip out to Holt Fleet on the banks of the Severn for a great feed, a proper pub and a warm welcome.
