Terrible visit this time, had to wait at the front door as no one was there to meet and greet, even when the chef came to check the computer he didnt even acknowledge us or get anyone. Then there was a wait at the carvry for the chef, then he was miserable, massive sigh when serving us and just got the impression he didnt want to be there. He then put pink blooded turkey on one of our plates which we asked to be removed. The yorkshires were flat and tough to cut, the roasties were like bricks, and the counter messy. Even the woman infront commented to a memeber of staff about it being dirty. She also asked for a serviette to be told we are not allowed to put them out due to health and safety and for fire risks, ive never heard anything so ridiculas, theres plenty combustible things in there that would cause a fire. Also dont know what the guy done on the front desk with my reservation but i got a text saying sorry you couldnt make your reservation, so hope that doesnt effect me getting my points on here. Also he didnt look very presentable if hes management.
Went out of curiosity after them being shut for a refit. Looks good but the carpark could have done with the pot holes filling in. They need to move the desk where you input your car reg, people were queuing outside as were slow at seating people, if the weather was bad i would have walked out as wouldnt want to queue out in the rain, it was better where it was before. Also carpet needs a good hover as you can see all the fluff which just makes it look messy. Dont like the chef asking if i want a yorkshire pudding go back to how it was, he caused a massive queue and was quite slow.
Not all food items were available so perhaps offer a discount when this is the case, food wasnt very warm, no one at desk to meet and greet.
Another fantastic meal at Toby Carvery. It was really busy, but the foid was excellent and the staff were very helpful. It was good to see someone coming round and wiping clean the area where the food is served. Nice touch.
Food was good, roasties bit hard and dry which seems to be the case for the last few visits, yorkshires not as big as normal, seemed short staffed, had to wait for chef coming out at carvry but still an ok visit.
Another fantastic visit to the Britannia. Fast service, helpful staff and wonderful meal- as ever. A lovely pub.
Great food and lots of it. A lovely, clean restaurant with friendly and helpful staff.
No one to meet and greet, waited a couple minutes before someone came. Then waited at the carvry, instead of serving the queue then bringing fresh meat out the chef left the queue for a few minutes to bring fresh meat out which wasnt even used. Surely you could get one of the other chefs to bring meat out while one is carving. Not getting much meat anymore.
Excellent fresh food and great service. What's not to like?
Always great food and great service at a very reasonable price
Had a voucher so cant complain on value but quality of food was poor this time which is a shame.
a friend asked me along for a meal, and so glad i went, we had a great time
Some food was a little dried out, not sure what was going on with the yorkshires very disfigured, portion size for meat is getting poor, waitress service could have been slightly better.
had an amazing pie here instead of the carvery, very good
Very quiet in the restaurant today. Myself and my partner had Yorkshire pudding wraps with a side of roast potatoes. They were cooked perfectly. Set us up nicely before work! 😁
Carvery was nice and fresh and hot. I find it best to get there early. Thanks again
2 Beautiful Yorkie wraps today with my partner. Thanks again 😁
Tried a Turkey Yorkie Wrap for the first time and it was Delicious. Gravy and roasties separate. Looked amazing also 👍
Service was great think its tricia? Anyway shes been there a long time and is the best member of staff there. Seem to get less meat now when you go despite prices going up. But overall was good
Yorkshire puddings a bit dry and hard to cut, rest of the food was fine, dont seem to get much meat these days despite prices going up. My biggest gripe is how quick they try and get you to leave. But despite feeding this back every time nothing ever changes
Better than previous visit, prices seem to have gone up but your getting less meat. Generally everything was ok. Tricia is the best employee they have in there, professional, friendly and welcoming.
No one there at the meet and greet desk bar staff didnt even acknowledge us. I say this everytime the girl who normally meets and greets im assuming is in charge never acknowledges the queue which i find quite rude. Had to wait at the carvery as no chef was there, it was busy so to me the chef should always be there. The food area was scruffy however someone did come out and attempt to clean in it. Some of the roasties and butternut squash were black and they seem to be getting more stingy with the meat 3 little bits emphasis on the little. 2 young lasses waitressing could do with some training found the blond a little rude, also they need to communicate was asked twice if i wanted pudding, let my food digest instead of asking as soon as you take the plates away. They are always in a mad hurry to get rid of you in there
