Had drinks with some friends. Standard bar experience. Nothing overly exciting
Excellent meal with great service Had a great time very enjoyable , at a reasonable cost Will use again when down this way. many thanks too the staff.
Food is brilliant. Great service. Good Value. Would recommend to anyone. Nice Setting and good choice on the menu. Drinks reasonably prices as well. A++++
We had the steak baguettes which were beautifully prepared and were delicious. The service was impeccable and we were really well looked after. Tompkins is a real gem, well worth a visit .
Great food, very generous portions and lovely atmosphere! Would definitely visit again. We had such a nice there. The location is very good too. Thanks
Amazing hospitality, beautiful food, brilliant location, we was a bit late, but still was welcomed, served pritty much straight away, didn't take long for a food, steak was beautiful, cooked perfect, definitely recommend A++++
The T-bone steak was good and the location is great if getting there by public transport as the DLR is just next to the restaurant.
Outstanding! Great service, great scenery, great time. I took my brother here for his bachelor party along with 19 other guests; they all absolutely loved it!
Great staff and really good food. Waitress was happy to seat us right away even though we arrived 30 minutes early. Very accommodating and happily agreed to our request to share a starter and a dessert (we had a main course each). Would definitely recommend for a mid week 'after work' type meal.
Best latte ever and the food was tasty as well. Also a good place to go tonfor cocktails in the evening. Yhe views from the top are lovely and the staff is friendly
Staff attentive. Food great and wonderful atmosphere. Location is on the docklands and restaurant had doors open to the gentle breeze. Would highly recommend for meeting or romantic rendezvous
Had a group of 10 people and we'd booked in advance. The menu doesn't offer vegan options, but you can change some of the options to meet this requirement. The food service was really quick. But as I've found on all visits the service was slow in providing the bill and we had to get someone's attention and ask for it. We struggled to get in and out inan hour, and if we'd waited for the staff to naturally bring the bill it would have been an hour and a half. The food all came together within 5 minutes from first plate to last. Mixed reviews of the different food options selected but that was largely due to personal preferences and not necessarily failings in the food provided. Good room at the table for each person, we didn't feel cramped and because we had half the table on bench seats and half on chairs, we could move the table closer in, or move it out. Overall everyone was satisfied with the meal and service
Great and attentive service when we were first seated. The menu is reasonably good and it changes semi regularly. Food quality is good and the meals are a decent size. The price of the meals is standard London pricing so a main and a soft drink is around £15-£18, or you can have the lunch menu which is £12 for a set range of dish options with a drink. Once you've finished the meal the staff were quick to clear the table but then didn't come back to offer coffee or the bill, had to try and catch their attention. This is something I've noticed in the past they don't tend to keep an eye to see if someone is trying to catch their attention. The service was quick though and we were in and out within 50 minutes.
Mains were lovely and nicely done (tuna perfectly cooked and veggies were real good) but desserts were amateurish and the service .... unprofessional. The young lady smiles but it seems the overall management is just not there. We had a short encounter with the 2 bouncers for upstairs who didn't seem too interested to talk to us, more likely carry on with their conversation. Lights were wrong in the main dining room making the whole place cold and impersonal. A real let down as a birthday treat. We might go back for a drink on the top terrace but the web could do with making it clearer also about the bar ON TOP and the restaurant on the GROUND. Overall less than average with a shocking service. Ok I am from the industry still I pay the same price. Shame
Lovely place, won't go back in a hurry. Music too loud. Waitress cleared away our 1/4 full bottle of wine, toilets were in terrible state.
Good food, good portions, varied menu, friendly staff. Restaurant is on the ground floor. Would have been nice to sit outside. Inside was maybe a little too dark for a nice Saturday evening.
I had the steak sandwich and it was delicious, excellent service, the staff were very professional and the restaurant is in a fantastic location. My friend & I enjoyed a lovely mid week dinner there .
Really good service and a brilliant atomosphere. I would highly recommend Tompkins for drinks with friends or a date! The half price cocktails are enough to tempt anyone!
The waiter was sweating everywhere and was in a rush to take our order. The food was nice, but there was no apology for the long wait for the food. One of the drinks that was ordered didn't arrive.
We waited around 50 minutes for our food to arrive which was not acceptable considering we had made a reservation in advance. However, after complaining about the service we did receive a 10% reduction off the bill and the service charge was waived.
The tuna complimentary dish was awful, duck starter was great, pumpkin and carrot soup lovely food over all was good! The service was terrible, the waitresses were very rude making faces when we asked for steak to be cooked to each required taste. There English was not great perhaps it was the language barrier? Wouldn't go again due to service
Really Good food and price. Customer service was a little slow, but it was a nice place overall. I would recommend it to my friends.
We went for our lunch break. The food took over 45 minutes to come and one meal hadn't even been put through the til so that was an extra 10 minute wait. The food was ok but considering the majority of diners at lunchtime are on a lunch break - I think they need to work on their speed of service as that would put me off going back or recommending to others.
Very good value for money. has a nice outside seating as well. Music was a bit loud though. The service can be a bit faster.
Very nice place to relax, great food and drinks. Its a hidden gem
No beer on tap, only few bottled ones. First waitress didn't know what was available so we had to order the drinks twice. We waited more than 30 minutes for the food and only 2 out of 5 people got what they had ordered f. The waitress had to take back some of the plates and it took another 10/15 minutes to get the food. Very disappointing level of service.
Great food, great service and reasonable price. Not too busy.
Was very nice food and good service from staff. Enjoyed the sausage and mash, very nice gravy. Pizza bread for starter was nice too! !
Poor value for money, even though we had the £10 lunch menu (main course + drink). Very little effort seemed to have been put into the preparation of our food. We left as soon as possible. The restaurant seems to have undergone some changes since our last visit and unfortunately I am not able to recommend it to others at the present time. A great shame.
Lovely food ,great staff, lovely up market bar and restaurant.Attic bar is stunning not to be missed.Extremely enjoyable evening ,no complaints what so ever. Will be returning soon.
My husband and myself went for our valentines day meal and the food was delicious, also, the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Wouldn't hesitate to go back wether it would be for a special occasion or for a quick bite to eat- would highly recommend.
Had the halloumi burger. It was really tasty and good value for the £9 price. The restaurant area was quite quiet and the service was friendly and quick. A friend had the salad as part of the £10 lunch menu. It was a large salad and she really enjoyed it. Would happily go back either for the £10 lunch menu or something a-la-carte
The food was extremely nice and the service was also really good. We were served quickly which was good as I was there for my lunch hour.
We were 10 mins late for the booking time and the staff refused to serve us menus and food despite the restaurant was not full at all. We had to go to The Attic and celebrate my birthday there.
