The Toro is a staple of the steakhouse genre – what is a steakhouse without the beef? – and at Toro’s Steakhouse on Marlborough Crescent in Newcastle city centre, they’re putting the cow at the centre of the menu. Their steak range is features classics such as rump, t-bone and the sirloin, all served with chips and a selection of garlic sauce, pepper sauce or gravy. Alternatively, one can go for the Toro Special Steak Sizzler, with a house sauce, or a sizzler that uses other proteins, such as chicken fillet, lamb steak, jumbo prawns, tilapia fish or, if you’re really hungry, a surf & turf with both sirloin and seafood together. There are starters, salads and sides to boot, as well as platter combinations of all above, so take a trip down to Marlborough Crescent – just behind Newcastle train station – for a steakhouse in Newcastle city centre that is more than memorable. Remember to book ahead as they do get busy and you certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on what they have to offer.

This is a hidden gem just around the corner from the station. The steaks are really tasty and served a bit old school but in a good way on a bed of onions on a sizzling hot plate so meat stay hot to the end
