Drinks post work was so yummy and we were served so well

Food was very good. Didn't like the wooden block plate

The food was good but the service was lacking. I was disappointed as at a previous visit I was more than satisfied with both the food and the service. Our plates were not cleared away and we were not offered the chance of a dessert and so we left prematurely. Also my initial wine glass was dirty with lipstick stains. I did ask for a replacement which was provided. This has not put me off for a future visit but I hope for a more satisfactory experience.

This is a very good pub. We hadn’t visited since Covid times and it has undergone a transformation into a very cosy, busy country pub. The Sunday roast was very good as was the crumble but perhaps it could have said it was a crumble tart rather than a pudding. Interesting beers on tap with a bias towards Courage, rather than ale from newer, smaller breweries in Somerset and Bath/Bristol

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Upton. Hospitality was warm and inclusive throughout our time. Our food drinks and nibbles were brought to our table with a smile and enthusiasm. This time we chose two of the chef specials, each was presented perfectly. If you haven't enjoyed the experience to date, we recommend you do. 5*

We visited for lunch, not having been to the Upton for a number of years, and were pleasantly surprised by the improvements since we were last there. The meals we chose were very good and it’s likely that we will return some time soon.

A very good selection on the menu and interesting beers to help enjoy the visit.

Lovely pub. Loved the ambiance. Decor to my liking. I had the gammon and chips, lovely. My mum had the steak, unfortunately this had to be sent back as not cooked as requested. This was done quickly. Also, her dauphinoise were dry and not very good. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Would go back.
