Excellent food and service.Landlord always comes over and asks if everything is ok.

This is a very good pub. We hadn’t visited since Covid times and it has undergone a transformation into a very cosy, busy country pub. The Sunday roast was very good as was the crumble but perhaps it could have said it was a crumble tart rather than a pudding. Interesting beers on tap with a bias towards Courage, rather than ale from newer, smaller breweries in Somerset and Bath/Bristol

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Upton. Hospitality was warm and inclusive throughout our time. Our food drinks and nibbles were brought to our table with a smile and enthusiasm. This time we chose two of the chef specials, each was presented perfectly. If you haven't enjoyed the experience to date, we recommend you do. 5*

Excellent as usual,only comment was disappointed that I couldn’t have a sandwich which I’ve had many times,which sometimes at lunch that’s all you need,but otherwise service was excellent and staff were extremely friendly and helpful . continue to

We visited for lunch, not having been to the Upton for a number of years, and were pleasantly surprised by the improvements since we were last there. The meals we chose were very good and it’s likely that we will return some time soon.

A very good selection on the menu and interesting beers to help enjoy the visit.

Staff and management/owners were very friendly and sociable. Typical me,I always want that little bit more on the plate but food was good and tasty.Scollops were wow.If I every win the lottery I’ll have them for starters,main course,dessert and doggy bag for breakfast

Lovely pub. Loved the ambiance. Decor to my liking. I had the gammon and chips, lovely. My mum had the steak, unfortunately this had to be sent back as not cooked as requested. This was done quickly. Also, her dauphinoise were dry and not very good. All staff were pleasant and efficient. Would go back.

Our visit was excellent from start to finish, we were given a very warm welcome, the table service was excellent and the food was first class. A menu to suit all tastes.

I was greated by friendly, helpful staff and made to feel welcome from th outset. Even though I arrived towards the end of the evening serving the all items on the menu were available. I ordered the Sunday roast (beef in my case) and it arrived in good time. There was a decent sized serving (enough for even a large appetite) and plenty of vegetables. There was a good selection of beers, lagers and cider on the bar and, because I was driving, I chose 'Clear Head', a low alcohol (0.5%) IPA from the Bristol Beer Factory, on draught. This was a very good pint (When not driving I enjoy a good beer) and I'd recommend it to any beer drinkers who would normally shy away from the low alcohol beer and settle for a fizzy soft drink. I enjoyed friendliness, the atmosphere, the food and the beer. My thanks to all at the Upton!

Very welcoming pub. Staff very attentive & Sunday roast lovely. Will come again. Maybe midweek.

The pub itself is lovely but thought the roast was ok, the beef was a bit chewy and lamb was a bit over cooked, the vegetable's were reasonable, but the puddings were very good.

Food was very good. Friendly staff. And it is nice we could take the dog

We received a welcome which, frankly, was ott. We were taken to a table in the restaurant area which, though well laid out, was rather dark. The food and drinks were ok, but my wife had to ask for her meal to be heated up. Subsequently, the owner came over and said that he’d given the Chef ‘a kick up the arse’ - language I didn’t appreciate. Later the owner’s wife came and asked how we’d enjoyed the meal. She was very pleasant in her manner. The drinks we had were reasonably priced but I thought there should have been glasses and a bottle of tap water on the table when we arrived. Overall, the experience was good but not great. I want the place to thrive but the owners need to note the things that niggle/annoy.

Very good food, great service friendly atmosphere, dined two nights in a row. Also took our dog and wasn't a problem.

We really enjoyed our meals, it wasn’t noisy so we could chat to one another and the service was great. There’s a good sized car park too!

The pub was lively just as a pub should be. Lovely atmosphere with a mix of young and older voices. My very fussy guest had her food prepared exactly as she’ d asked - full credit to the chef for producing a well done egg and burnt gammon just exactly as requested. I hope following this guests instructions didn’t break his heart!
