Something of a fresh new face in Manchester’s West Disbury, Vineyard is quick becoming a fixture among locals who look forward to the jolly welcome from Vineyard’s manager and staff, plus the incredible array of dishes that take their cues from the eastern end of the Mediterranean in particular. One can never go wrong when one chooses a meze platter at a Turkish restaurant, especially if you’ve never dined there before. They function as the perfect introduction to the meal ahead, and give you an idea of the talent in the kitchen. At Vineyard, you’re 100% right when you order up the lux meze platter for two, a smorgasbord of hummus, spinach with yoghurt, tabbouleh, falafel, stuffed vine leaves, muska borek, aubergine salad and sucuk. From there, you’re free to explore some of West Didsbury’s most accomplished Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine. chargrilled chicken and lamb, steaks and seafood, and vegetarian dishes such as the gorgeous imam bayildi (which translates roughly to fainting imam!).
