Fantastic place staff very friendly food is fabulous and would recommend it to all x
Excellent evening, professional and friendly staff and amazing food all round lovely evening!
As a family we have been going here for the last 40 year!! I am now taking my children here and it is still as nice now as it was then
Excellent food and service as always. .. .. .. ..
Lovely, friendly and attentive staff. We went for Sunday lunch, starters and mains both very generous size and everything nicely cooked and all fresh ingredients. We really enjoyed our meal and too full to eat dessert. Will return.
Lovely Sunday lunch & food is good value, however we found the drinks overpriced, i.e a pint of soda water £1.60 !! Normally free in other establishments.
Great nothing was too much trouble a great meal we will return
The food and service was excellent. Sadly we did not get to our table until almost 9 oclock, we were booked in for 8 oclock and not eaten since breakfast.
food was excellent.service was very slow.alot of staff but ad 2 wait along time before we were asked about having a dessert.waited 30mins for our bill when the place was almost empty.
Excellent evening, great table, very pleasant staff, lovely food and wine, been before many times and was not disappointed .
Excellent food, good service. Would definitely go again & would recommend
Food Excellent, pleasant staff only criticism, cranks service very slow and not often enough.
Warm welcome on arrival, very friendly staff. We all had a 2 course meal, and to be honest, I ordered the same as I had previously a number of weeks ago and the main course was not as nice, ( tomahawk pork chop, it was quite tough to cut, but the pudding was delicious ( Bread & Butter pudding in an orange marmalade whisky with custard. The main course for me was disappointing.
The lighting was a little too subdued for for liking but the food and service was good. The only part of the meal I was not happy with were the peas that came with my Haddock and chips; they were dry and not properly cooked and the tartare sauce was a bit dry.
Amazingly service, High quality food and very attentive staff! 5/5!!
We had lovely evening, the service was friendly and efficient and the meal was brilliant. Didn't feel rushed at all, will definitely be returning.
We came to the Toll House 12.30, were immediately welcomed, offered a seat and our drinks order taken. Within a few minutes we were shown to our table, and not too long after our starters came. Our starters and main meals were fresh twists on traditional local foods and very enjoyable. The service was prompt, friendly and efficient. We will return.
Tasty food, great portion sizes and great service. Choice of drinks was excellent. Although vegetables on the side dish that comes with the Beef Wellington were perfectly cooked; personally I would have preferred it to be something a bit more interesting (instead of the standard veg you get with Sunday lunch); maybe dauphinois and the sugar snap peas. It would just feel a bit more special that way. Having said that it was a very enjoyable meal.
Food was ok, table could have been better prepared with things like butter being there. This arrived after we finished our starter. Main was ok meat was a little fatty and broccoli was raw but generally was tasty. They brought extra gravy when we asked. Sweet was lovey. I enjoy the Toll House and have visited several times, I will go back.
Excellent service, superb menu, quality food . What more could you ask for ? Back soon .
Always a splendid time in a nice a relaxing a pleasure to dine
Brilliant restaurant Lovely food Great staff Nice and quiet atmosphere
This is a very good restaurant been here twice now food excellent staff very good to
Overall very happy. Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The only negatives were that because it was a warm day and the restaurant was packed the noise level made it difficult for some of us to hear clearly, and those close to wall found it became stuffy at the end
We enjoyed it, good price and atmosphere, nice prosecco thanks.
Friendly place, friendly staff, good food. Love the music and the quiet... Super cool
Food was very good, but the service was rushed and little finesse.
Great service, fast efficient and wonderfully cooked fresh food served with finesse. A fantastic gem in a built up run down area serving fine British food. Well worth the visit and will definitely go again.
Very friendly the food is so nice iv got a gastric band so having fish was so nice for me
An excellent dining experience overall, But the music levels were much too low. This resulted in a somewhat dreary atmosphere but also meant we could hear other diner's conversations which was not very pleasant.
Lovely food , good service and excellent staff can’t fault anything. Well wether a visit for a visit special night or just a lovely night out for food.⭐️⭐️⭐️
We did not realise it was a Valentine special night. The menu was therefore different and more expensive. The food was okay.my partner had chicken supreme and I had salmon en Croute. I had a cheesecake dessert and my partner had cheese and biscuits. Not worth the extra as if was Valentine's night.Service ok and staff friendly.
The experience was pleasant all round. From the moment you walked in the staff were polite and friendly. Menus were offered in the bar area where drink orders were taken and brought to your table. We were then escorted to our dining table where we were offered warm baked petti pain. The starters and mains were promptly set on the table and beautifully presented. The food tasted every bit as beautiful as it looked and was piping hot on warmed plates. The desert menu was small but varied and did not dissapoint. Our young waitress was full of smiles and eager to help. Cost wise, it's not the cheapest of places to eat and the added surcharge for dishes such as beef Wellington seemed overly priced. However, my husband enjoyed every bite! Would recommend this restaurant for quality of service as well as food if you are looking for something special.
Food was lovely and service really good couldn't fault it we had steak and it was cooked to perfection, the staff were very polite and friendly.
What a lovely place to visit. Staff very pleasant, food was great and at a reasonable price. Car parking was fine. The only small point was the coffee wasn't that hot. With that exception I will return on a regular basis
Lovely place and great service :-) highly recommended for all the family. Fair prices and good choices, the beef was lovely and the brandy snap basket is a must.
All the food was brilliant place is quiet and welcoming Service was prompt and all good was warm And plenty of it staff were polite Good experience all round
