Unfortunately, having booked the restaurant we arrived to find it was not available due to a Wake, ended up In the bar, if we had known we would have brought the dog with us. The food was mediocre at best, I had the beer batters fish and chips, I had better at Spoons in Tewksbury last week. Unfortunately the service was not much better, on this occasion I could not bring myself to leave a tip, having had to remind the staff to bring the wine and ask if they could clear the table and take an order for a sweet. Not sure what is happening at Gupshill Manor, in the Pat it has been a great place to eat. Hope it gets better soon.

We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was great as we had 3 young children in our group and if they made a bit of noise we didn't stress about it. The waiter was lovely and nothing was too much bother.

A chilly April day - no heating on and when finally it did come on - barely a trickle. Open fire finally lit after 3 hours of ‘chilling’. The place was dark and lacked atmosphere. The ploughman’s was poor - half a slice of bread and two small pieces of cheese, an egg, a small amount of leaf, a few silver skin onions and a bit of pickle - enough to cover the surface of a small oval plate. Anyone with expectation and a reasonable appetite would have not been impressed. As for the toilets - smelly! A beautiful building with great potential but cold - literally and metaphorically. I shall not be returning!

Food ok although service was alittle slow last night , due to not enough staff on. But we always enjoy eating there and it’s very friendly and the two staff who were working were lovely.

Staff didn’t seem to look or know what they were doing. Staff service was slow and forgetful. Food wait was good and food good. Lovely sunny day but we were very cold in the original building had to wear shawl and coats. The heating did finally come on as we were leaving. Took 20 minutes to settle our bill. Main problem I think is lack of staff training. Very disappointing glad to get home to feel warm again.

They served us old reheated food in a microwave. Dog food level quality. Yet they charge high prices like its a quality restaurant. A complete joke

The dishes we ordered were not available. We were told that the kitchen had run out of pesto mash so two guests (I being one) chose chips instead. Then we were told the kitchen had run out of chicken. I and another guest then chose the salmon dish. The menu did not state that the Mediterranean vegetables were actually a ratatouille which the other guest, choosing the salmon, was not partial to a tomato sauce. The ratatouille on her plate was replaced with green beans. The chips on all three dishes were undercooked and had to be replaced. Once all the above had been rectified, we enjoyed our meals. But as I only eat chicken or fish, and having a fish dish for my meal the previous evening, I so would have preferred the chicken dish.

The staff are very attentive and the order for food and drink placed quickly. We had a Sunday roast, mine was everything on but my partner who is lactose intolerant had a special requirement which was easily and pleasantly dealt with. Food was first class and more than enough. My only slight gripe was the group that bought their dogs, who barked the entire time we were there. Perhaps a separate dog-owner area could be arranged? We have already booked for nexct week.

had a good lunch and catch up with friends. everyone found something they wanted from the choices. fire was lit so warm. we had dogs with us and just feel its a shame when they put dog tables close to each other when they have space to spread them out more. overall happy to recommend and will come back

We ordered drinks which were delivered promptly. We requested roast pork. The service was generally excellent but more gravy was requested but it never arrived. The meat was generous but I did find one of the carrots (served with their tops on) was very gritty. Overall, it was a very pleasant occasion.

Service was very poor. Drinks eventually came after meal. Meal was ok but nothing to shout about. No communication between servers and kitchen. We had to cancel out desert due to waiting over thirty minutes after placing an order. Other tables who ordered after us had finished and left while we still waited for service. Will not be going again or recommending

A chilly February day. Didn't feel very warm there. Few people. Good choices for starters and mains but some of the dishes disappointing. Young male sous chef / apprentice who served us , Finn was good humoured, knowledgeable about the food and enthusiastic . The female waiting staff very friendly but less efficent and distracted. Food was adequate but unexceptional Good beer.

My daughter and I come every year at this time, it’s where my mum and dad came, and where both of their wakes were held. Always lovely, it’s like a pilgrimage for us 😊
