The Viceroy is tucked away in the pretty village of Bollington in Cheshire. There's plenty of parking, and the village has a number of pubs for pre-meal drinkies. It's worth allowing some extra time to wander around and appreciate the area. The one and only reason the Viceroy didn't get a 5 star review is that the loos weren't perfect. They were clean, but the hand drier in the gents didn't work, (do they ever). Now the good stuff. The menu is extensive, but fortunately, there is a pleasant bar area where you can take your time to check it out. The meals arrived quickly, and were enormous, as well as being beautifully presented. They were as delicious as they were huge, with subtle spices, and in our case, incredibly tender chicken. We ordered salads with our meals, and at £1.50, the Green Salad was fantastic value, crisp, fresh and varied. For starters, we had the Mulligatawny soup, which was a meal in itself. Probably the best Mulligatawny we have tasted. We only had sparkling water to drink, and it was (imho) expensive at £2.30. But the quality and value of the food more than made up for that little niggle. If you go, ask to be seated near the window, where there are spectacular views to enjoy as you dine. Or even sit on the balcony, and eat Indian al fresco. Will we be back??? You bet!!

A great restaurant! The staff are always so friendly and helpful and the food is consistently excellent. The interior is welcoming, comfortable and clean. Can highly recommend!
Absolutely Gorgeous food. The Sunday special was amazing value for money! The staff and service was exceptional and attentive. Will definitely be back very soon!
The food was lovely - full of flavour and as spicy as we wanted. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is ample carparking. Will visit again!
Usual excellent food and service, we had a great night. I like the fact that you can ask for your preferred level of spiciness as this means you can try different dishes.
Good food, and as usual an easy place to take the children early on a Saturday evening. Large menu with some interesting options, something for everyone
Nice but not as nice as it used to be, flyer said glass of prosecco for everyone but when we asked we were tol it was only the later sitting which wasn’t stated and we were still celebrating the new year despite it being early as we were with our children so that was a little disappointing
Food lovely , service a bit slow considering there were only 2 tables in. Went very early in evening so not as much atmosphere as usual.
Lovely food at a great price with top service would definitely go there again. Great setting good extensive menus and very helpful staff really excellent
Lovely food friendly staff Can t fault it went for set menu for 2 more than enough. Only went for that due to give choice on menu and wife couldn't decide
Excellent food as always, fantastic value for money at £9.95 for 4 courses - Highly recommended. Staff are very attentive and friendly, children very welcome also.
When we arrived our restaurant was NOT listed. The staff were NOT surprised. Fortunately, it didn't make a difference & we were seated right away.
Friendly staff, excellent food. We ordered meal deal for 2, Poppadoms starters mains rice naan. Best I've eaten in a really long time, just a shame its so far away
Absolutely stunning! Food was fantastic, service was fast and friendly and the meal and drinks were very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a decent curry!!
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere and children are made to feel very welcome. We've been going for nearly twenty years! Can't be bad then 😂
The food was really good, as usual. The standard of service wasn't, but it won't put us off going again some time in the future.
Very busy so we were seated in the draughty waiting area. Food usual high standard, but so so service and being cold spoiled the night.
We frequent the Viceroy regularly and are always happy with the quality of the food, the menu choice and the friendly service. All good in every way.
AMAZING food but we were told we couldn't use our Tastecards during 'Christmas Week' which was not on either their own website or the Tastecard website - so this wasn't a great start to the meal. They did honour them in the end. I checked the Tastecard website again afterwards and it specifically says you CAN use Tastecard in this restaurant throughout December.
Lovely surroundings, great food, fantastic service, will be regular visitors from now on, Bollington is a nice village, and the restaurant itself is very quaint, the bar area for pre dinner drinks is fabulous too,
Great place with good service and food. Recommend it for family meal or with friends. Indian bear good and always reasonably full. Credit to BOLLINGTON
The Staff are friendly and efficient. The food is really excellent. The Sunday special even on New Years day was fantastic value. We had a brilliant night, Four adults, three teens and a nine year old. Everyone very happy.
Good service helpful staff enjoyed the meal as well will be going back again found booking a table on line easy as well overall experience good
We had a very nice 2 for 1 meal which was a excellent value for money. The service was efficient and the waiters very polite.
Had a lovely meal at Viceroy for my birthday with 5 others, would recommend highly. Staff lovely and friendly and nice atmosphere inside the restuarant
Below average to what we expected in London. The food was ok. The decor could do with a facelift. The staff not very attentive. Ladies only have one working. The restaurant was unbearably cold. Willingly to give them a second chance.
The food was absolutely fantastic, they catered well to various dietary needs, and the service completely without fault. We'll definitely be coming back to eat here again!
Excellent meal, once again, well cooked, large variety of dishes, can definitely recommend. Well priced and good atmosphere. There is an area for group meals, would suit office/birthday type bookings.
First class service from the minute you step through the door. Exceptional quality and great tasting food, really good value for money and never lets you down, can't wait to go back
Great menu and freshly prepared food. Welcoming, friendly and attentive staff. Super service and excellent value for money. Ultimate question always is - Would I go back - YES!
A very good Indian restaurant with quality dishes. Good value for money and well looked after by the staff. Well known in the Macclesfield / Bollington area.
A little disappointed with the meal on this visit, we were a party of six gentlemen who dine out regularly at Indian resteruants, all the members of our group were in agreement that the various meals we had did not come up to the standard we expected of this resteruant.
Excellent meal as usual. Friendly staff helped us celebrate my wife's birthday with 4 guests. We never fail to enjoy our visits and to receive attentive service.
Excellent meal, fantastic food and service, will definitely go again. Staff all friendly and very attentative. Ambiance perfect, warm and comfortable. Would recommend to a friend.
Easy to book online. The service was great and the staff were friendly. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would recommend the Viceroy in Bollington to everyone.
