Fast becoming a favourite among Glasgow foodies and gourmands, 111 by Nico attracts diners from all over the city to its Kelvinside location, with simple yet sleek decor and modern European cuisine. The refined menu boasts creative takes on classics. Begin with some chicken liver parfait or some peat smoked salmon before moving on to your main. The menu at 111 by Nico changes on a weekly basis, but expect to find delicious options like scotch lamb with caramelised cauliflower, pearl barley and tarragon, and duck with smoked aubergine, raisin and yoghurt.
Be sure to leave room for dessert though as you won’t want to miss out on 111 by Nico’s lime & thyme cheesecake or the panna cotta with exotic fruit, mint and coconut. The service from entering to leaving was excellent. The food was first class with something for everyone. I have no hesitation in recommending 111 by Nico for a great night.
Amazing value for money. The best squid I have ever tasted! Staff are all very attentive. One of the best restaurants in Glasgow. Will be back.
An absolute gem in the west end...and not yet in Finnieston!! Fantastic food...bursting with flavours. Great service from people who know how to look after you.

Absolutely perfect evening, myself and wife rolled up half an hour early and were seated right away, service throughout the evening was first class, nothing was a hassle for them. Our menu was explained in full and the way the taster menu works and if we wanted to match wines to each course. Then the food started. WOW is all I could hear from my wife, will the occasional OH MY GOD, and she was right the food was sensational. Again on service the dishes were explained in full and we were offered fresh drinks as the glasses emptied. As the plates were cleared fresh cutlery appeared and the experience continued. The star of the show for us was the duck egg and also the ham haugh, these two dishes were so memorable that we were still talking about them this morning, the theatrics of the ham dish was amazing and the taste of the duck egg with wild mushrooms and white truffle was sublime. Our seats were located directly across from the pass and again as part of the dining experience my wife loved watching the calm but very professional chef plate up with the most delicate of touches. We eventually asked for the bill (not wanting to leave) even asked if they done bed and breakfast rates. We were treated with a bit of Glasgow banter as the check slip reads nothing but "the damage" very amusing, however for two people for a five course tasting menu an added cheese board and plenty of soft and alcoholic refreshments a latte and an espresso costing no more than one of the kids computer games we were delighted. This wee diamond in Glasgow is more than good good this is a place for THE DINING EXPERIENCE, the food the service and even the small touches of the music choice made everything perfect. We went to 111 by Nico for Dinner on Monday 2nd January after getting engaged over the Christmas period. We actually didn't know what to expect when booking, and when we arrived saw that the menu was a 6 course taster menu with option of wine pairings. We were happy to go ahead with this (and readily agreed to the wine pairings). Each course, and matched wine, was Fantastic! The flavours brought out in each dish were superb, and we had nothing bad to say at all about the food! My fiancee loved it too! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a quiet booth to ourselves. We will certainly be back. Well done Nico!
A special birthday meal with my wife was made extra special by dining at 111 by Nico. The welcome was warm and friendly as was the service. The food was simply wonderful! This was one of the best meals I've had in a restaurant at ANY price EVER however it was only £20 for three courses. Every taste was a joy and cooked to perfection. Nico and his team deserve all the recognition they can get - this restaurant is a joy! Don't forget to book at it was full on a Tuesday night - no wonder! A first class dining experience.
I am a vegetarian, it is never an easy decision to eat out...I love cooking even for myself. So what a pleasant surprise to find a restaurant that included a tasting menu with people like me in mind. From the very point of entry the service and staff were excellent. I originally decided to try 111 @ Nico because of the kitchen employment ethos, people's lives can be turned around by a caring society. As for the food it was extremely tasty and varied, personally one of the courses was too similar but that wasn't really a surprise with the choice of pea and asparagus being quite predominant but without a doubt it was delicious...I am not easily pleased in restaurants I don't think they do there job very well for non meat eaters. So thank you very much and I will return soon.
Great experience. We had the 5 course tasting menu, with matched wines. My wife doesn't like dairy, and they effortlessly tweaked a couple of the dishes to accommodate us. The restaurant was full on a busy Saturday evening, and had a great buzz. The food was prepared to a very high standard - every plate a winner. Only slight dissapointent was that the dessert on the menu was not what we were actually given - they blamed a printing mix up as they were changing the menu, but I felt they should have at least advised us of that when we opted for the 5 course fixed option menu - instead they said nothing and just presented us with the (entirely different) dessert than that advertised. As it contained cream, we then had a delay while they took my wife's plate away to make it dairy free. Overall though it was a great meal with some nicely judged wine pairings, not cheap but worth it for a treat.
Superb from start to finish. This was a birthday treat for hubby. 2 great menus to select from a 2 or 3 course or 5 course tasting menu with or without wines. We selected the 3 course menu as hubby noticed Rabbit and he loves that. Hubby has the scallops and tiger prawns, rabbit and creme brulee. I had the vegetable terrine, spelt and brownies. 2 starters bread with fab paprika butter and the vegetable chips, 2 sides fennel and apple salad and the chips for hubby. Great bottle of gavi and coffee and amareti biscuits. Rounded off a great meal in a cosy surroundings. Great to watch all the dishes going by and the smoke smell from the ham hock was really nice. Service was superb and all the staff fab. Hubby now wants to go back and do the tasting menu!
We had the tasting menu on a Monday night which was really good value for money. Every course was beautifully presented and the food was amazing, easily the best meal we have had this year. Two members of our party were vegan and the kitchen amended the vegetarian menu for them, all of their food looked delicious and they were really happy with it. The staff were friendly and engaging, and we had a fantastic evening. The only slight fault is that the service was a bit slow, which we didn't mind as we weren't in a hurry, but some people might find that a problem. However, we will definitely go again and have already recommended it to friends!
First time at 111 by Nico and a very pleasant experience it was too. Food was well cooked and the chef wasn't shy of seasoning, staff were very good and friendly. Let themselves down slightly with the length of time taken to bring dessert - possibly the simplest dish on the menu - suggesting someone had forgotten about it. But on the whole, good honest cooking and would certainly return
One of the best restaurants in Glasgow. The chef pays special attention to giving the customers a feast of flavours in the starters, main courses and desserts. The night got off to a great start with a delicious mushroom velour amuse bouche. A nice touch is the servers describing all the ingredients on your plate as they serve you. Pork served two ways was delicious (accompanied by a fennel apple side and skinny fries) as was the dark chocolate dessert balanced by a fruit flavoured light ice cream. Only minor quibble was perhaps the small portion sizes (sides were definitely needed), but given that three courses are only £22, it still represents excellent value.
The tasting menu on Mondays is value for money as you can get 5 courses for £20 and this is not including the amuse bouche. I found the amuse bouche a bit too salty, ham hock was lovely but vege was a bit too vinegary for my liking, the accompaniments beneath the duck egg was also a bit too salty. Duck egg had a runny yolk which was yummy. Apart from a few criticisms, rest was delicious. I was pretty impressed how one chef handled all the cooking and it is still a commendable effort despite a few tiny let down in the first few dishes. Stone bass was cooked perfectly. Pheasant was delicious. Ambient was great. waiter was friendly. Too bad I couldn't dine with wine as was driving. However, overall, a lovely experience. Thanks!
Went with my partner as we were in Glasgow for a romantic w/end. Location is not ideal but well done to them for helping regenerate the area with such a good restaurant. We chose to have the 6 dish plus matching wine option and it was delicious! I've been avoiding places that offer that sort of thing for fear of them being well.. snobbish but this was so nice and cosy and you could see the food being prepped and the staff were friendly, attentive, knowledgeable. But the food! The food was delicious! Everything well paired, different textures and flavours , all well thought through so creatively! Looking forward to visiting again !!
Went for dinner on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not overly busy but there was a nice atmosphere which was also helped by the lovely waitress (who was doing a trial shift - hope she got the job). As it was a birthday dinner we chose the tasting menu which was a great choice. Beautifully presented food and wonderful flavours. I particularly enjoyed mackerel remoulade and the stone bass with the cauliflower puree - amazing. The menu offers the opportunity to enjoy food that you would see in programmes such as 'Masterchef' but at affordable prices and great service. Hope to be back soon!
We chose to visit 111 by Nico trusting the great reviews we found online, and we are so glad we did! Incredible food and wonderful service. The portions were also bigger than we expected, and the atmosphere was lovely. We had a perfect night and can't wait to come back.
Superb food lovely attentive service! Fabulous wine list! Thank you! Recommended to us by two other fantastic restaurants The Crabshakk and The Ox and Finch! We went for the 3 course menu and chose different dishes and asked for ideas to match our own wines! They kindly let me have a glass of Vermentino to pair with my sea bass not normally by the glass! The lamb and sweetbreads was delicious and we adored the sweets small and beautifully constructed. Fantastic prices. Would definitely return.
The food was delicious - an amuse bouche of cauliflower coloured set the standard at high. My starter and main didn't disappoint either. Lunch for two came in at £44, without drinks - a very reasonable price. Staff were attentive and friendly. As each plate of food was delivered, there was an accompanying description from the waiter - very handy for people like me who can't remember what the menu said! This is a lovely place to eat. I'd definitely return.
The four of us enjoyed a superb evening at 111 by Nico. The menu was interesting and the food was delicious.. The service too was efficient and the final bill was a pleasant surprise. Great value for an excellent meal.
