A highlight in the Canonbury and Islington area, take your seats at 2K Steak House’s Essex Road restaurant and prepare for a rustic, succulent journey through the distinctive South American cuisine of Argentina that’s bound to take you far from drizzly London. Start with traditional empanadas, pastries filled with beef, ham and cheese, or humita (a spiced mixture of maize and dough). Knowing there are plenty of meaty options ahead, you might want to stay on the lighter side with the vegetarian causita or the pan-fried scallops. but if you can’t wait to get stuck into a range of Argentina’s most famous culinary exports, go for the sausage platter laden with chorizo, morcilla, chicken and provolone, and lamb and mint sausages served with criolla and chimichurri.
Main courses at 2K Steakhouse include the signature 2K burger, lamb chops and yet another platter that’s sure to get London’s meat lovers in the mood. This classic Argentinean parillada selection includes grilled chicken, lamb, chorizo sausage, morcilla, and the Argentinean favourites of rump and sirloin steak. However, the star of the show at 2K has to be the selection of steaks: cuadrill (rump), ancho (ribeye), chorizo (sirloin), or lomo (fillet). These delicious cuts are bested only by 2K Steakhouse’s churrasco de lomo, a flavoursome spiral-cut fillet of beef marinated for 48 hours in chimichurri sauce.
