Agora Turkish Cuisine

Food was lovely although a little cool. The restaurant it’s self is a very big space so needed to be warmer. Waitress was lovely but a bit shy. They could have sold us more drinks as we were sitting with empty glasses till I went up to the bar. Still I was a lovely night. And would go again.

There wasn’t many people in so the service was very quick but that wasn’t a good thing because they brought our main course before they had cleared the starter plates. Also I have never been in a Turkish restaurant that didn’t sell either flatbread or pita bread.

overall a fabulous night we took my mother there for a meal for her 91st birthday the meal was beautiful the place was lovely deacored and nip clean the young girl who waited on us whose name i cannot pronounce now was very very friendly and sociable and the owner of the restaurant well what can i say shes the most happy and smiliest person i have ever met we loved everything about our visit there and would certainly recommend anyone who wants a special night to remember to pay a visit

Was a bit confused at first, as the signage outside is hard to see, but once inside we recognised the original Agora and the food was as delicious as ever!

This is our third visit and this restaurant just gets better and better. The staff are polite, friendly and welcoming and they are very attentive and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The menu is extensive and the food is faultless. Can't rate this place highly enough.

Very good service and atmosphere. The food is varied and tasty. Would give 6/6 rating but 2 of the wines and 2 of the deserts on the menu which we ordered were not avaulable. Will come again my favourite eating place in Hartlepool.

Service was very rushed. Starter cane within 5 minutes. Only 5 minutes between starter and main. Kitchen was closed and lights switched off by 10pm. Sea Bass was very dry and seriously over cooked. Disappointing experience.

Food was lovely... just a bit quick. We were in and out in an hour.

We went for a birthday. We love Turkish food and Agora food is always delicious. We are vegetarians and My daughter vegan so we are not an easy family to please to Agora always manage. Wouldn’t good anywhere else. Would always recommend.

This eatery was highly recommended and I thought I was give it a whirl. Front of house young girl was amazing and very attentive. We had just finished starter and mains appeared so it all felt a bit rushed. I had seafood and found it under seasoned and over cooked. It also had mushrooms with the dish and the textures just did not work. Portion size was large. I was just ‘ok’ and for me I wouldn’t return.

We chose to eat at Agora as the vegetarian menu looked good. Unfortunately they didn’t have one of the main course dishes that we ordered. I had the dolmas as a starter, 5 for £4.50. My partner got them as a main course: 8 for £11.50. So the starter was good value but the main poor. The main course dolmas came just with lettuce, so insubstantial as a main. I had veg moussaka and it was unpleasant. V dry and v little flavour poss due to it being primarily (mash) potato. Had to send it back so they added some tomato sauce. Would not eat here again despite the staff being lovely.
