Italian cuisine is easy to prepare but difficult to master, but at Al Porto, they do it with ease at their outlet set inside Warehouse 13 on Kingston Street, right down on Hull Marina. Al Porto has a kitchen stocked with the freshest ingredients, and can boast cured meat imported directly from Italy alongside the locally sourced produce, so it is no wonder that their output is so consistent in its quality. Customers are spoiled by the authentic, traditional fare on offer, such as Italian meatballs and seafood linguine, as well as classic dishes such as steak and monkfish.
Begin your meal at Al Porto on Kingston Street with an Italian regional speciality of Nduja, a sausage from Calabria in the south, before moving onto a pasta dish, such as their lobster ravioli, or a main: we’d recommend the sea bass fillet for fish lovers, or the chicken in green pesto sauce. Wash it down with a selection of red and white wines from their list and you’re well on the way to a top quality night out in Hull. Book a table and set off down to the Marina and Al Porto on Kingston Street for a meal to remember.
Felt welcome when we arrived. Good choice on the menu. Service brilliant. The food was absolutely beautiful. Will certainly go back. The sooner the better if I have anything to do with it. Thank you for a super evening x
Delicious food and excellent service. Highly recommended. We were in a group of 7 and all were happy with their meal choices. I would definitely go there again
Great food and service. Made my husbands birthday very special. Staff even secured my car window to drive home as it had been broken into whilst in the restaurant. Many thanks again.
Lovely atmosphere, clean, great staff. Fast service . Attentive friendly staff. Food was great. Drinks not too expensive. Charged differently for soda water , one one order £1 , then , £4
Al Porto: This was our first visit and expectations were high, we were greeted and seated very quickly. We ordered a light starter of garlic bread and olives, unfortunately my wife’s bruschetta came dry so we asked for it to be returned and some garlic butter to be applied. When it returned she received two slices of bread heavily coated with garlic butter. So again we sent it back stating we wanted the bread to be bruschetta style this they did. For mains my wife ordered the duck unfortunately this had been cremated I however ordered the risotto marinara I was thoroughly enjoying it and would go as far as to say it was probably the best risotto I have ever had the texture and taste was amazing until that was, I reached a layer of salt which made it totally unpalatable. We then asked to see the sweet menu and having decided our choices we waited and waited until eventually the waitress returned at which point we decided to take the bill instead. The wine, which has been pointed out by previous reviewers was bang on (for my palate). In summary the front of house were charming, the ambience was relaxing the kitchen made some really bad school boy errors. Would we go again? Yes, we believe they deserve a second chance so watch this space!
Brilliant night from start to finish. We found this restaurant through trip advisor as we are not from the area. We had the warmest of welcome on arrival which continued throughout the night. Their Parma violet gin cocktail was fabulous! Succulent scallops for me and spicy sausage pasta for my husband. Fantastic starters. Main course of fillet steak for me and a creamy chicken dish for him. Presentation and flavour were 10 out of 10 on every course. So full after the strawberry cheesecake, that s taxi was ordered for us, as attempting to walk would have been futile!!!! When we are back in Hull, we will definitely be coming back. Well done Al Porto, we think this was possibly the best meal and dining experience we have had in a very long time. You should be proud.
We were a party of 6 in Hull just for the weekend so chose and booked Al Porto online. The lady who greeted us let us know they had just seated a large party so the kitchen were very busy and it might take a bit longer than usual for our starters which was fine and we appreciated her honesty. We all really enjoyed our food, the steaks were very well cooked and huge! Staff were very efficient and helpful. We had a great night 👍
Attended on a Saturday evening, table of 4. We were early but got seated straight away with no problem. Restaurant is not too small to be crowded, but again not too big to be just a commercial business, a good balance for which made a good atmosphere. Decor is good, a little themed but doesn't leave you thinking what the.... Pretty good main menu with a not too expansive choice, a case of what was on the menu done well and not a big menu done average, and the specials board was very good, we had starters, mains and drinks which worked out less than £30.00 a head. Food was well cooked and beautifully presented, fresh and had not been stood around waiting kept warm Staff attentive but not in your face. All in all a very pleasant first time and will defiantly be going back.
This was the first time that I and my family had been to Al Porto and I found the experience excellent, I cannot fault the staff or the food and I would definitely come back and I would recommend Al Porto to friends
The food was great, and the staff helpful. The only criticism was the way the meal was rushed. We’d been requested to make our menu choices the week before turning up. Having arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time. We where taken straight to our table, and within 2 minutes of sitting down, our starters were being served. We noticed other tables having this, to the point that people hadn’t even sat down, and the staff where stood behind them with their starters. The entire meal was served and finished within 45 minutes. Not the dining experience we’d have hoped for to be honest. Find it a little ironic that the next step of the review process has a rating system, and one of the experiences to grade is waiting time. The waiting time was almost zero. But this would be an inaccurate rating, as we felt it was too quick and certainly diminished what should have been an enjoyable meal. As we stated previously, the food was very good. The table staff polite, and helpful. So it would be inappropriate to criticise these.
