Food excellent we had a fabulous evening. The staff are attentive, professional and friendly. The menu is great, not too vast but plenty of choice.

Second time I’ve visited recently. Lovely experience both times. Tasty pasta. Regrettably no pizza or garlic bread though.

Since my last review the restaurant and been given more than a make over, the owners have created a larger dining area and an area to sit and have pre and post dinner drinks. The ambiance was perfect, the service excellent and the food could not have been better. Certainly an improvement had been made the cost can be seen in the changes and well worth a visit and not just for special occasions.

Really nice restaurant, friendly staff and a good selection on the menu. Very resonably priced as well, the Italian stew was excellent and the pannacota desert is amazing.

Fantastic staff and Wonderful food in a great venue. Shame we were the only customers on a Sunday evening and yes we would go back.

The best tornados Rossini in town. Fillet cooked to perfection as are accompaniments. Decent wine list with a very pleasing negroamaro. Lovely warm atmosphere and calm friendly staff. Perfect for a quiet evening with friends and loved ones.

We booked a table at Al Porto in November to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived for our 8pm booking and waited 10 minutes or more before someone came to the desk, he asked if we had booked and went to find us a table. We were taken to our table and given a menu each. We weren’t too bothered about the lack of a wine list and ordered a bottle of house red, starters and mains. We waited about an hour before our starters arrived which we thought was excessive but then expected our mains would arrive soon after. No one had been to ask if we were ok or wanted any additional drinks. After we had been waiting for nearly another hour we contemplated if we should give up on the mains and leave but thought we would give them a chance. At around 10.00pm my husband went in search of someone to ask where our meals were. The waiter said he would find out. He came to our table saying he was sorry, they were very busy and the manager would bring the meals himself. This was a poor excuse, a table of four beside us had a drink and left and there were a few empty tables when we arrived. The manager arrived around 10:15, his only words were to ask who ordered the steak and planted the plates on the table! He returned a few minutes later with two small bowls containing the sides, my husband politely told him we were expecting vegetables with the main, he threw his arms in the air and told us he only had two hands and would bring them. He brought another two small bowls each containing two small carrots and a few green beans. My husband’s main was tasty but the medium steak I had ordered was well done and dry, it was late and I was hungry so ate it. As the manager seemed to have graduated from the Basil Fawlty school of management I didn’t believe I would get a replacement and it was too late in the evening to wait for one. We finished our meal and my husband left the table. A waitress came over straight away to take our plates and asked if I had enjoyed the meal. I told her I hadn’t and why. She apologised but looked embarrassed and didn’t know what else to say. She asked if I would like to order deserts, I told her no I would like the bill. The bill came straight away and was on the table when my husband returned from his short visit to the bathroom. We have had slow service and not so good meals but most restaurants are apologetic and try to put things right. Not this one. It spoilt our anniversary and we shall not be returning.

Fantastic food and wine, great service and excellent prices, what more could you want. This is one ofbthe best Italian restaurants that I have been to.

As usual food was fantastic and wonderful staff. Just a lovely place to dine, lovely atmosphere in great surroundings. I would heartily recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

Lovely food and atmosphere only 2 small issues . Our table was near the door and hence we were a bit cold every time the door opened and they did not serve garlic bread

We’ve visited the restaurant many times and have never been failed on an affordable, delicious, well presented meal. Excellent location on the Hull Marina. Xx

It was an excellent meal enjoyed by all 4 of us, will be returning very soon. The service was first class and the ambience wonderful.

Very disappointed. I mentioned it was our daughter's 21st and they said they would do something nothing materialised. The service was awful really slow we were there over 3 hours. Received the bill and they advised they hadn't charged us for deserts as recognition of the poor service. Shows how bad it was when we don't even have to mention it. Bill contained an item we hadn't had but I couldn't be bothered to mention it because it would probably of taken an age to sort. Just didn't really meet our expectations and wasn't the celebration we expected

Brilliant meal ,good portions,hot ,tasty and good service.lovely place with good views,as a couple we enjoyed it very much.we have also been there in a group an had a brilliant time Well done Al Porto

Slow service. Portion sizes inconsistent. Would have liked Parmesan on my pasta dish, other tables were offered not ours! Staff didn’t recommend side orders with meals so had poor size order of veg. Disappointing food and service, good job the company was fantastic!

Beautiful meal preceded by delightful drinks. Attentive service completed the excellent food and wine. Highly recommended. And such an atmospheric ambience. A lot of attention to table settings too. Excellent.

This was our fifth or sixth time to Al Porto and we cannot fault the place. The atmosphere is great. The staff were friendly and helpful and most of all the food was fantastic. Perfectly cooked and tasty, all at very reasonable prices. Will definitely be booking again soon.

Lovely food as always - I had the lobster ravioli, which was delicious. The restaurant looks great after refurbishment and the service was fantastic. Although I would like it if next time there was a cocktails menu on the table. I know there are cocktails on offer now but I never know which ones.

Brilliant food, well priced with excellent service. I had the specials, scallops followed by venison really good. Wife went for mussels and seafood risotto which was packed with flavour.

Excellent surroundings along with a warm welcome and great food made for an excellent evening. As soon as they recognized we were celebrating my wife,s Birthday a free cocktail of her choice was promptly brought across for her....

I booked a romantic table for two this evening for my girlfriends birthday. I did not give much brief but they went above and beyond my expectations. The food was outstanding and excellent value for money. The birthday girl was very happy they even brought her a brownie cake out with a candle in and this was no normal brownie it was the most amazing brownie we ever tasted.The service was outstanding. Honestly THANKYOU guys . we will definitely be back for sure. Best fine dining in hull for sure we went home very happy.....AWESOME.......

The food and service were excellent as always but we were a little disappointed that the pre meal drinks area has now been replaced with extra tables

Love Al Porto - however the disappearance of the lovely leather settees to the left when you walk in was a disappointment - we were taken to a soul-less room with a few tables and a bar with no-one in attendance and left for a good few minutes before a drinks order was taken. At our table in the main restaurant we chose a starter of bruschetta to share which came on a slate, we waited for a few minutes for sharing plates to come and they didn't so we ate the bruschetta off the slate, then the plates came but we had finished. Just a small thing - but Al Porto the small things matter. Otherwise a lovely meal.

Been to this restaurant many times and the food and service is always fantastic. Would recommend to anyone!! Great location with plenty of parking and lovely atmosphere

Disappointed quality of food was a let down service wasnt great either! Ordered steak plate came swimming in meat juices and fat. Mushroom sauce was thin and no flavour. Vegetables over cooked and they forgot the potatoes and had to pay for them separately over priced for what we got!

Excellent evening, waiter very knowledgeable and friendly, food was superb I had sea bream ( or bass, can't remember) and it was the best I've ever had and I like fish. Highly recommended

The food was nice but the service was very slow - waited a long time for drinks (maybe 15 mins from ordering upon arrival). The veg that came with the steak and chicken was very tiny and difficult to believe potatoes/chips were only available as additional orders. The dessert menu is quite small but then we were told that there was no vanilla icecream, no tiramisu, and only two portions of chocolate brownie! The chocolate brownie was nice but the portion size was tiny. The steak knives were brought after the steak was served and we had started eating before the veg was brought to us. We had a good evening but that was because of the company, not the food/venue. Overall, disappointing and not sure I'd return for an evening meal but would try the lunch menu again as we had no complaints with that ... though this was about a year ago.

Great atmosphere even though the restaurant was quiet, friendly and welcoming staff, good food and good choice, a very enjoyable evening for my son's 18th Birthday.

Lovely food and great service all rolled up in a nice setting. When the bill came I for once over estimated and the desserts are even better 👍

Great location on the Marina with plenty of other bars around for post/pre food drinks. Plenty of choice on the menu and food was good. Would like more choice of deserts and miss the Cannoli. Great atmosphere and décor and friendly staff.

Really good service and very reasonable prices for the great quality of food, all staff were kind and helpful, my partner and I had a fantastic time!

Beautiful food. Lovely environment. Friendly staff. The only “issue” was the waitress forgot to take our cocktail order than forgot to bring the dessert menu. Wouldn’t stop us from returning though.

This place is such a little gem. The food was exceptional and the service was amazing. Had a lesson on gins and a hug from my hero from our previous visit. Thanks for making our wedding anniversary so special 👍🏻❤️😋

Food, location, service and price are all spot on. I would recommend Al Porto for either a lunch or evening meal.

Very busy and a little wait for my table but they had two parties in and where struggling to move them out. But the food was excellent and the house wine was great. Looking forward to going again.

Besides the inaccurate menu descriptions and the incessant crappy music and poor food will not be rushing back. Prawn sauce is made with prawns - not any old sauce with a prawn on top. Always devein the prawn! It’s a good job the waiter noticed there was no smoked salmon on a smoked salmon bruschetta.

Excellent food, great service. We’ve been coming here for years and can’t fault it. It’s our special occasion restaurant, we know it won’t disappoint. Paid a visit for a birthday on Saturday, Steak and Fish top notch, too full for dessert though!

Great food poor service after mains cleared away no more service waited for attention but no the waitress just glanced and walked away eventually ordered coffee which didn't come asked to move from table to lounge area which had no seats available when had to try to drink the coffee standing up paid up and left .should have had a waiter or waitress assigned to certain tables

The food was superb and served very efficiently and with style. The atmosphere was great and nice to see it busy. Staff were very helpful & friendly and the wine selection was superb.....but the food was top trumps.

The food was delicious, proper traditional restaurant. Atmosphere & ambience was perfect. Actually very quiet when we went (Sunday lunchtime). Staff were very courteous and professional. Overall an excellent choice.

Overall the food wasn’t that bad. We got shown to our table quickly and the woman who greeted us was welcoming and friendly. Jut the poor service from the staff let the night down a bit.

Good food, good service, reasonably priced, nice ambience and good appearance. bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Would definitely go back.
