The Albert Dock in Liverpool was once the entry point for countless niche and speciality goods into Great Britain. In the glory years of the port, ships arrived from far and wide to provide the merchants of the city with silk and sugar, brandy and cotton, ivory, tea and tobacco among a myriad others, and while the flow of goods has stalled in the modern era, there is still a sense of the maritime traditions and the globe-trotting spirit of the age to be found in the area around the dock in the form of Around the World Bar and Restaurants. They specialise in international beers and food from their location on Thomas Steers Way, just a short walk from the dock, and their selection is nothing short of spectacular.
