About Around the World Bar and Lounge - Liverpool

Liverpool was once the port from which Britain left to see the world – it was not for nothing that Carl Jung named the city the “Pool of Life” – and at the globally renowned Albert Dock, ships arrived from the whole globe over to decant their cargo. While the heyday of the docks may be in the past, their legacy lives on at Around the World Bar and Lounge on Thomas Steers Way, where they bring together culinary traditions from, well, around the world to Liverpool city centre. That means an international menu, a huge diversity of beers and an extensive wine list. Book a table now and make the most of what they have to offer.

More about Around the World Bar and Lounge - Liverpool, Liverpool

The Albert Dock in Liverpool was once the entry point for countless niche and speciality goods into Great Britain. In the glory years of the port, ships arrived from far and wide to provide the merchants of the city with silk and sugar, brandy and cotton, ivory, tea and tobacco among a myriad others, and while the flow of goods has stalled in the modern era, there is still a sense of the maritime traditions and the globe-trotting spirit of the age to be found in the area around the dock in the form of Around the World Bar and Restaurants. They specialise in international beers and food from their location on Thomas Steers Way, just a short walk from the dock, and their selection is nothing short of spectacular.

The drinks come from around the world – befitting the name of Around the World, really – and we can only give you a brief flavour. There are plenty of offerings from the big hitters of Europe – Erdinger, Leffe, Peroni and more – and from the USA and Canada too, but the more obscure titles are the ones that will draw you to Thomas Steers Way. From Iceland there is Einstok, and from Kenya comes Tusker, from Singapore is Tiger and there is Palma Cristal from Jamaica. In fact, if you throw in a Peruvian Cusquena and an Aussie VB, you’ve got every continent covered without leaving Liverpool. Well, until the penguins start brewing, at least...
