Banks Bistro

This really is an excellent restaurant with possibly the best quality food, service and atmosphere of anywhere in Wolverhampton - certainly it's the best value for money. Noisy when we first arrived as there was a large boisterous party, but they finished quickly and the atmosphere returned to the quiet intimate feel which we like for a dinner for two and Banks do so well!

Drunk man in bar tried to buy me a drink and then sat on my table while eating then he went back and sat on the bar stools fell off them then he fell asleep on the floor police were called wrong place wrong time did spoil my experience

We had a meal before Wolves match. Excellent quality and service.

Great Food, Very good value, we had the 2 courses for £14.95, good portion sizes, great quality produce, cooked to perfection, staff attentive and polite, all in all a great restaurant,

Lovely place. Food look fabulous, was delicious and well presented. Service excellent. For style of food the pricing was good. Slight downside was only one scallop served with sea bass - husband picked this dish because of the scallop(s) - if plural scallops on the menu you do expect more than one! But will definitely go back.

We booked a Sunday lunch for our wedding anniversary. Service was excellent , the food was lovely , hot and fresh. We were seated upstairs as we were a 6 of us . We were the only people up there, but there was a very nice mix with of music playing, so it was a very nice atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place. It is refreshing to find a small restaurant, that is not part of a big chain. We have previously eaten here , the a la carts menu is also fabulous.

We all enjoyed our Fathers Day Sunday lunch, everything about it and a very reasonable price (including the wine)

Nice venue , pleasant staff , food could be a lot better , we had the Brie starter which was great , also the belly pork starter which Was flavoursome but the tiny slice of park was more like.a dried out scratching ! Mains were rather hit and miss . Steak was good but chips were undercooked and hard , we had duck at a 5.95 supplement , it was over cooked not pink

Disappointed with overall quality. Service wasn't great and the food just nothing to shout about. Sorry but we won't be going back. The staff were apologetic but after the 1st course we opted to leave.

Embarrassed as the card machine didn't work several times and felt other guests though my card had failed due to lack of funds. Luckily there was an alternative machine.

Enjoyed a beautiful meal, as usual, food was cooked to perfection, my only gripe is we were given the set valentines menu, which had four choices of starters, mains and desserts, it would have been nice to have been asked if there was nothing on this set menu we did not fancy we could also select of the normal menu, we only realised at the end of the meal when we saw a dessert being served that was not on the valentines one. Will certainly be returning

Not once were we asked how our meal was probably because they knew it was awful yet heard others get asked several times. Watched others who orders after us get their food long before. Salmon was FULL of bones every mouthful I was spotting them out including a huge one in the middle. Pork Wellington tough and only 3 tiny pieces of bread each with a whole camembert between us. Pudding had been reheated. Never again.

Great service and food. Surprisingly soacious. Very good value for money. Will definitly be visiting again soon. Staff were very welcoming and attentive to provide excellent experience.

Excellent food from the valentines set menu , good service and a nice atmosphere helped make the evening memorable. Would recommend this restaurant for anyone’s special occasion.

Perfect romantic lunch time dinner, well catered for thinking of my wife's fish allergy we were sat away from other diners, the puddings were glorious too!

Not a good experience this time, I’m afraid. I ordered Sea Bass. Unfortunately the portion was very small. I would say it was a quarter portion of fish that would have served as a starter. Not value for money. By contrast, the chicken portions were huge. Almost half a chicken. Therefore I didn’t think the meals were very balanced for potion size. Sticky toffee puddings were microwaved a bit dry. Previous visits to this restaurant we enjoyed our meals and have recommended to freinds. This time I feel there has been a drop in the standard we were used to. A change in chef perhaps? Disappointed this time but I hope this will change.

Food was lovely. So were the staff. Only real thing was keep being asked if everything is ok with the food while trying to eat. Bit old fashioned to be doing that now while we are trying to eat anyway.

We went for my dads birthday, they could easily accommodate 7 of us. Good service, food all came out of time and was piping hot. food was excellent, big portions great value for money. Atmosphere was relaxed. Would recommend and will go again

Fabulous food beautifully presented and high quality. Extremely welcoming restaurant and well looked after by friendly efficient staff. Lovely atmosphere with soft background music which was not intrusive and added to ambience. Would highly recommend.

Both food and service were very good. I would recommend the place and go there gain myself. Nice ambience too and not too noisy inside.

This is the second time we have been for Sunday Lunch and once again did not disappoint, lovely food at a competitive price and friendly attentive staff.

Excellent service nice food very friendly staff look forward to going back. Little quiet but was a Thursday and told especially busy weekends and especially tribute nights which we must try.
