Very busy at peak times so book ahead, but excellent Traditional Italian food, open late and perfect for post drink meal, very welcoming, good central location.

Well established local legend, Bar Napoli offers a great value three course lunch for about £9. Great choice; nice food; friendly service. Very lively though so be warned it can get quite noisy at peak times. A hit!

Good service, good prices and great atmosphere. Table ready on the selected time, restaurant was busy with lively atmosphere, good table looking out on the falling snow.

Lovely traditional Italian restaurant, nice atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price. Only other comment would be to put a bit less rocket on the pizza as there was a lot which overwhelmed the other flavours.

Disappointed that we were forgotten about had to ask fir desert menu then told only had ice cream I left a tip but I shouldn’t have service wascterrible

The menu was great & staff were very helpful & friendly & took on board my cheese allergy. We have booked again on Thursday for a post Christmas lunch.

Very attentive and friendly staff. Good three course lunch deal, and the wine was a great bargain too! Nice atmosphere, background music was at the right level so we could chat comfortably.

The place was brilliant, I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a no frills but delicious Italian meal in the heart of Edinburgh!

Service was quick, and overall our food was tasty. I had the risotto, which had too much melted butter oozing out for my liking. Although the lunch price has gone up, it’s still excellent value. Good place to catch up with friends.

The food was lovely and very reasonably priced.Bar Napoli has a nice cosy atmosphere and even though the restaurant is busy the staff are always friendly and welcoming. !!

Staff are always welcoming every time I go. Menu is a fantastic prices at only £8.50 for 3 courses at lunch time. Always with great quality ingredients. Very central for visitors to the city. House wine also is lovely & under £10.00. Give it a try if your in Hanover Street. I am back on 31 January with another group of friends.

Excellent value for money, great food and service,. Very relaxed atmosphere would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Portion size of pasta dishes large, you won't be disappointed.

Old school Italian that is good for all ages or occasions. The staff are pros so if you want a lovely meal at a reasonable price, go.

We had a lovely meal in Bar Napoli. It was quiet when we arrived but got very busy later on. However, we still did not feel rushed, and the staff were happy for us to sit on and enjoy our wine. They were extremely friendly and helpful, without being intrusive at all. A lovely, relaxing lunch!

Had a lovely lunch here, both the food and staff were fantastic. Served quickly and did not wait long on our food arriving between courses.

Second time we have visited this restaurant whilst in Edinburgh, it's a great place to eat; superb choice of dishes, very helpful and pleasant staff, tremendous atmosphere and excellent value. The food is tasty, well cooked and the portions are hearty. An excellent Italian restaurant, we'll be back for our third visit next time we're in the city

Been going to Bar Napoli for over 30 years and have always thoroughly enjoyed the food. The menu is very reasonably priced with good sized portions. Very good value for money.

I had booked at Bar Napoli on the 27th November for myself and three others. When we arrived we asked for the lunch menu to be told that it had been taken off. It clearly says on the website that the lunch menu is not available during the Edinburgh Festival and December. We all had a course off the main menu, which was lovely but disappointed that they would not honour their lunch deal.

Fantastic welcoming Italian restaurant with great food with lovely friendly staff. Central location just off George Street. The place to go for Edinburgh Italian, enjoy.

Just a great atmosphere and such superb food just as we remember it when we were students 28 years ago. Staff so happy and helpful

Food was excellent but tables were too close together you couldn't move would recommend you ask for a table downstairs as tables weren't so close together

Great food and service at a good price lunchtime special was taken off for xmas but still on website and wed travelled a good distance thinkibg it would be available but didn't spoil things

Have visited here before and liked the old fashioned Italian restaurant vibe. Typical decor and red checked tablecloths. Noisy and full of atmosphere. Portions are huge and relatively cheap for a city centre restaurant. Only downside was my sirloin was very fatty.

Great value - huge plateful! Varied menu with plenty of choice. I got a huge plateful of spaghetti with meatballs for my main and it was delicious. Busy place with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
