A cosy cafe by day and a stylish wine bar at night, London’s Bar Restaurant 48 fuses together an unusual mix of Eritrean and Italian influences, serving up an array of delicious tapas dishes to perfectly complement their lengthy wine list as well as a range of mains. We recommend trying some chicken tsebhi, an Eritrean curry that is prepared with chicken, a mixture of spices including berbere and seasoned with Eritrean butter. Located on Brixton Road, a few minutes walk from Oval underground station, Bar Restaurant 48 is not only a great place to try some East African cuisine, but with live music and entertainment in the evenings, it is equally as popular for a night out in the Kennington area. Nice small restaurant. Food was excellent. Live music was great on Friday night. Service wasn’t amazing but they were apologetic, and tables were small, particularly for the large dishes served. Would recommend!
Bar 48 was super helpful with the surprise dinner we threw for a friend. Food was delicious and the evening memorable. Thank you to all at Bar 48
