One of the latest members of the Belgo London family, this space in Soho stretches over two floors right on Old Compton Street. This iconic restaurant family specialises in Belgian fare that’s so tasty it’s garnered itself quite the following of loyal foodies all over the country. Belgo in Soho boasts a menu loaded with signature specialties with an extensive moules (mussels) selection, sharing platters and so much more. Also, pay close attention to the range of Belgian beers, cocktails, schnapps and wine that complements the food just perfectly. A sought after location for Londoners in the know, you’ll be wanting to head to Belgo with a reservation to avoid any disappointment.
The design and layout of Belgo in London’s Soho fits with the menu seamlessly. On the ground floor you’ll find a dining space for up to 50 guests, with large windows looking directly onto the bustling Old Compton Street as well as an open kitchen and cool, industrial-chic decor. Then, the lower ground dining room seats 110 diners comfortably. Boasting its own bar, it’s ideal for celebrating those special events. Also, this unique restaurant has four ‘caves’ that can seat up to 15 guests and each have an individual theme. Essentially, this Belgian haven is up there with the most intriguing dining spots in London.
Then, there’s the menu. Considering it’s a Belgian restaurant, we recommend ordering the New Dirty Fries sharing platter of Belgo’s famous fries smothered in Belgian tomato sauce, baconnaise, pancetta and Monterey Jack cheese. After that, take a look at the moules menu and choose a pot, bowl or platter – we love the traditional pot with garlic, celery, butter and white wine. With plenty more on offer, including steaks, burgers and waffles, all that’s left to do is book yourself a table (or cave) and eat your way through this enticing menu. Oh, and make sure you take a look at the beers – Belgo is home to over 60 different brews, and they’re waiting for you. Reserve now!
Have been to Covent Garden restaurant in the past. Took a friend for her first Belgo experience. Although the building is totally different to Covent Garden, the staff and standard of service, along with the food left us with no disappointment. An excellent dining experience. We will return.
