South Shields might seem a long way away from Italy, but if you’re on the lookout for an authentic slice of the bel paese on Tyneside, then you would do well to head into town and pay Bell Passi Italian Kitchen a visit. You’ll find them on Ocean Road, perfectly located right in the centre of town and easily reachable from Newcastle via the Metro. When you arrive you will encounter a menu filled with favourites from spaghetti and meatballs to lasagne, arancini and of course pizzas, as well as plenty of Peroni to wash the whole lot down. Make sure you find space for the Nutella calzone to finish up, too – it’s something of a house speciality. Book your table and get the family together for a meal out at Bell Passi Italian Kitchen.
The food was really good & staff really friendly. One of the starters was so big it would have fed the whole table. The fish main course was delicious too.

It was lovely. We were warmly welcomed by a waitress. We opted for lunch time special at £4.95 for 3 courses. My friend had garlic mushrooms then lasagne and coffee and I had potatoe skins carbonara and coffee. It was lovely x
Four of us dined here last night. Highly recommend the food & service. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly can't wait to book again. Good food great price. We will be returning. Thank you.
The food was lovely, staff were nice and friendly, just the meals did not arrive together and my side arrived about 10 minutes after my meal! Will go back though and try again.
Lovely staff and food. Although the meal seemed extra spicy and they didn't even know about our reservation through this website... luckily there were plenty of empty tables.
