Bird in Hand

Thus was our first visit to the Bird in Hand. Lovely atmosphere. Stunning presentation. Delicious dishes. Relaxed and friendly service. Perfect family meal. We will be back again soon.

There was parking next to the Bird in Hand. The restaurant service was very good. There was a good selection of food and it was all excellent and reasonably priced.

Very nice and varied menu, atmosphere and waiting staff. Dishes were served promptly and with a smile. All in all a very good experience and we shall return.

Restaurant decor good. Service excellent, food perfect with very nice choice on menu as well as some interesting specials. Really nice evening, would go again. Only down point was small parking area.

The starter and main course were excellent, just wished the desserts were more interesting. I had ice cream with hot chocolate fudge sauce mainly because I didn't fancy anything else on the dessert menu. Also our wine in a wine cooler, was placed on a shelf behind where we sat. We were re-assured by the waiter he would be re-filling our glasses on a regular basis. It did happen after our glasses had been empty for a while, but the next time we did it ourselves as it looked like we could be in for a long wait. Apart from that we had a lovely evening.

Very friendly atmosphere and service was very good. The meals were pipping hot and very tasty - all in all and fabulous evening which we thoroyghly enjoyed.

Delicious food and great service, points deducted as twice cooked pork belly was more like a slice of fried pork roll, so not as good as usual.

Both the service and the quality of the food with excellent. All the staff at the restaurant were welcoming and were genuinely attentive throughout the evening. The food was fresh, well presented and the menu and specials provided plenty of choice. It was a great evening.

Great food albeight a little pricey for the pub , restaurant pretty cramped but service good .Best to eat in the bar area as sofas and area larger and far more comfortable

Food was nicely presented all courses were good except for the whitebait which appeared to have been cooked too far in advance therefore not as crispy as it should have been and left a strong bitter taste in the mouth. Meet and greet was also disappointing. Instead of being escorted to the table the hostess simply pointed to where our table was . The table however suited our party very well.

We enjoyed the food very much but the noise level was so high that we could hardly hear each other across the table, unnecessary music playing increased the volume. We will not return here on a Saturday evening, perhaps it is quieter on weekdays?

Dined in the separate restaurant area, and tried the hake goujons and the rump steak, both were excellent. The service was great too and the food arrived very quickly too.

Really lovely evening. Great food, service and atmosphere. The only thing was that it was very stuffy and warm in the restaurant because it was so busy but we managed to open the window a tiny bit. Apart from that.. perfect. 😊

Excellent service. High quality of good. You can also have small dishes for those unable to eat a lot. Very highly recommended. Have visited an number of times.

Great welcome and a good size table for 6 people to eat in comfort. Nice amount of space between the tables, good atmosphere, but strangely very noisy despite the restaurant not being that big. Quick, efficient service. Great, tasty food. Don't be put off by the pretentious description of the dishes on the menu, they are very tasty and nicely presented. Good value given the quality and averaged about £25 per head for 2 course with wine.

Fabulous as always. Always go for the wrap for lunch and never disappointed. Definitely recommend for somewhere we guaranteed great food in a nice relaxed setting.

A great pub with a separate restaurant. There was a warm welcome and the service was friendly and excellent. The food was beautifully presented and very delicious. We had met each other from a long distance away but we will certainly come here next time we get together.

Very busy Friday night - service was slow, very noisy and although the food was good I felt it was overpriced. Also I was not asked how I wanted my lamb cooking.

Our first time here and what a pleasure! Very friendly and efficient service staff which is exactly what is needed in such a busy place. Lovely food beautifully cooked and presented. Not the cheapest of places but well worth the money. Will definitely return!!

The food was great and the service excellent with friendly and attentive staff. There is a good choice of food and specials. The only thing that slightly spoilt our visit was that the restaurant area was very noisey although it wasn't that busy.

Had a meal with friends for my birthday, it was all really good although had a bit of a long wait for the meal but we were pre-warned about the wait.

We really look forward to eating at the Bird in Hand, because we always get a warm welcome. The menu is unusual with something for everyone, and beautifully cooked.

Friendly staff and wonderful burgers (meat and veggie)! We sat in a private booth in the garden on a sunny day and it was a lovely experience in all.

Great atmosphere and food beyond expectations. Great evening. Sharing starter was easily enough for two people and 2 well proportioned mains (amazing lamb). Well priced and nice service.
