Every local neighbourhood needs a restaurant like this. Not too fancy or trendy; just reasonably priced (for this day and age) and good quality.

We had a really lovely meal. The staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and the cocktails and the wine were excellent. A great restaurant with a great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning soon

We were well looked after and enjoyed the food - my wife’s boeuf bourgignon was not hot so we sent it back to be reheated, but not a problem - the music we loved - have booked a return visit

Mixed feedback from our table of 3, great wine, average service pleasant enough but no real friendly effort as a first time visitor. Tartiflette delicious and would recommend to all, but Beef Bourguignon lacked flavour as did the average mash, starters great.

Delightful & charming French Bistro serving traditional classic French food. Opposite Gypsy Hill train station (easy to park). We celebrated a family birthday on Sunday, delicious food, nice wine list -the maitrede is on point & mixes excellent cocktails & a chef who knows their onions -what's not to like. Onion soup totally delicious -as was the confit de canard. It also happens to be next to the totally excellent Bull & Finch bar if you happen to be a craft beer aficionado. (Gypsy Hill/Crystal Palace's best kept secret)

Authentic French Cuisine hits the spot in quiet part of South London. Small number of tables. Friendly front of house. The mains were rich and hearty. We ate Beef Bourguignon and Duck Confit. Both were delicious and generous portion sizes. A lovely meal with excellent French wine selection.

the food is good but quite expensive for a south london location in a slightly tatty dark interior

The food was at best, below average. Stale bread, followed by tasteless food. Empty on a Friday evening for a reason. Our one and only visit

Delicious food, excellent value but lacking on atmosphere - the staff could try to make you feel more welcome and create ‘energy’

Little gem hidden away on Gypsy Hill well worth a visit. Typical French style bistro with good reasonably priced cooking and relaxed ambience with personal unobtrusive service. Wish we had found it years ago. Will go again

Wonderful neighbourhood restaurant - just go! Genuine French food and absolutely delicious. Mussels were lovely, beef Bourgogne highly satisfying, and crème brûlée was a real proper joy. Went on a quiet Wednesday night and was somehow both special and relaxing. Take a date, take your mum, take friends! Came out comforted, full and very impressed. These are good people doing great food - for prices comparable to local pubs, but with a whole load of je ne sais quoi. A special place.

Best things were location, decor, wine and waiter at chez Lucie. But the overriding issue was the food we firstly had to wait for our starters a good 45 mins. Which the waiter did say their was an issue in the kitchen but we ploughed on with the meal everything was tasteless and the sauces/soup lacked flavour very thin and watery I had canard confit and the potatoes weren't cooked through still hard so all in all we won't be returning.

The food was really delightful and the staff lovely. But I was completely freezing, not only was the restaurant very chilly but in the ladies I could see my breath - the air was so freezing cold. It spoiled an otherwise good experience.

We had an early reservation and were the first. It was a little chilly at first but the waitress was very friendly and helpful and turned off the music when requested. Service was brilliant not rushed. Food super. Definitely recommend and will come again.

Love having a very good local French restaurant in the area...The crab salad and tartiflette were excellent...Crepes can be a perfect third course/dessert...

Chez Lucie is a wonderful local amenity for the Gipsy Hill area. They offer a classic French bistro menu, fairly priced, in a charming dining room. Some nice wines too. The moules et frits is particularly good.

Overall we had a lovely time, starters and dessert were very tasty but the confit was a disappointment. It needed a fruity sauce accompaniment and the potatoes were not pommes sarladaise, more like a roast dinner than French style. The atmosphere and service was good and very reasonably priced.

My husband and I had 3 courses and the food was delicious, although my skate was on the smaller side of my expectations/experience, but we both look forward to returning. The pride point was good and the waitress was very attentive and looked after us well. Highly recommended.

The waitress was excellent and the food was OK but, having just come back from France, we were disappointed, especially because the duck was overcooked. The tuna, goats cheese salad and rillettes were good.

Nice leaving dinner for a friend. Food good as usual - loved the gésier salad and the crepes suzettes as always. One comment - we have now had a number of bottles from the wine list - I think it could do with refreshing - wasn’t terribly impressed with the Bergerac we had last night
