Bistro Vadouvan

The chef at this restaurant has a gift for creating sophisticated flavours. The service is attentive without being obsequious. There was nothing deserving of criticism in our visit except for a noisy table nearby.

Interesting menu and attentive staff. Overall this restaurant is a bit more pricey than the average in Putney, but the quality is very good.

Quite for a Saturday night but the food was fantastic and the services was very good.

Staff was amazing. Food was also fantastic but portions were suprisingly small, particularly at the price! Ashamed to say we ate again when we got home 15mins later.

Just exceptional. That kitchen staff is so on top of their game. My family loves it.

The food was beautifully presented, with interesting combination of spices and textures. The waiting staff were very helpful when I requested my shoulder of lamb withe the fat removed and doubled checked that the chef had done this before serving me the dish. My pudding of poached pear was sublime. Great evening

Nice food in quiet area with river views good for a relaxing lunch

I had the courgette and spinach dumplings for the main which tasted amazing. A wonderful combination of warming spices and cooling sweetening pomegranate seeds. The cheesecake for dessert was a tasty combination of flavours and textures. My partner enjoyed the sea bream and our friend tried the lamb shoulder. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and attentive. We look forward to our next visit. The location is perfect by the the Thames. Great for a sunny evening and very relaxing!

Very good food and service. Sat outside and it was lovely so could not hear the music inside which was too loud like in a lot of restaurants. Would highly recommend.

Delicious fish, nice helpful staff and lovely evening view to the River

I enjoyed my meal here but did have some concerns. The service was quite slow despite the restaurant not being full. I had to ask three times for some tap water. When I eventually received a glass I was told the delay was because they’d run out of bottles for water! The fish was not boned but this wasn’t noted on the menu ( however the people who had it said it was delicious). On the positive side my lamb was excellent as was the dessert. The restaurant is more pricey than others in Putney.

Cumin lamb and pork chop were to die for. Starter of ceviche was divine! Beautiful evening sitting outside. Really really nice. Great service!

As usual staff members were welcoming and attentive. The Foie gras to start with was tasty and my main was delicious. I enjoyed the halibut and it was the tastiest fish dish I’ve eaten in some time. We had the house Rosé which is also well worth trying! A relaxed and friendly atmosphere! We will book again soon.

Original dishes well designed with good strong flavours. Excellent food

The food here is based on a mix of French and Indian. The flavours are strong but not excessively hot. It is unusual cooking for the UK and we have been three times in the last three months (that is unusual for us). Good attentive service. I hope they get the support they need to stay in business in these difficult times.

Absolutely divine food. They did forget to bring our side of chips but brought all the other sides. But that was a minor problem given the overall pleasure we had there. The service was quiet and efficient and the pricing very acceptable. I would be very happy to return there.

Completely and utterly delicious. Every mouthful. Starters all excellent. We tried them all. Lamb and poussin mains delicious. Great wine list. Lovely fresh mint tea to finish.

Excellent food. Great service. No complaints. This is a little hidden Gem in SW London. It's not the cheapest but if you want quality then the price is very reasonable.

Beautiful food, great wines, friendly attentive staff, definitely worth a visit! The only issue was that the restaurant does not cater for children and for a restaurant based in Putney that could be improved.

The chef at Vadouvan combines French cuisine with Far Eastern flavours and everything the four of us ate was delicious. We have been back twice in 2 weeks and will be back more - it is outstanding.

Very creative menu and excellent wine. Enjoyed the special menu,the beetroot croquettes were a highlight. Highly recommended for something out of the ordinary! Service, atmosphere all excellent.

Great service and delicious food with different and varied menu which we all enjoyed. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. We will definitely be back.

The set lunch remains fantastic value. The pork meatballs were even better than we expected. Plus the added Wednesday bonus of champagne at half-price. Undoubtedly serving the best food in Putney at the moment.

A first experience here of great tastes, half-price bubbles, good service and pleasant surroundings in a local restaurant alongside the river. What more could anyone ask for?
