Really good food and friendly staff. I loved the black cod - so delicious. Would definitely come back and recommend to my friends and colleagues.

A great concept and amazing menu. The starters were a particular highlight... the wagyu steak, I have to say, wasn’t life-changing, but asides from that I’d definitely recommend this place.

Having been Zelman Meats a few times, I had high expectations for Black Cod & Wagyu. Had a fabulous starter with the lobster croquettes, which were tasty and filling. The Black cod was delicious, full of flavour and was the highlight of the night. Unfortunately the Wagyu was mediocre. It tasted like a normal piece of steak and honestly, I would prefer having the cuts of meat at Zelmans than the wagyu offered at Black Cod & Wagyu, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to it. The sides were great as they were pretty much the same as the sides from Zelman meats. I will order the lobster fried rice next time to try. Overall it was a good meal, the black cod really was the spotlight of the night - will go back for that!

great food, the tiger shrimp tempura is really spicy, just as the name said "holy fuck"...wagyu steak is good and dessert is sweet after finishing the main dish

The Wagyu steak was ok, it didn’t melt in the mouth but for £20 we weren’t expecting a high graded Wagyu, the cod was really nice though - flaky, flavoursome and cooked to perfection. The Thai salad was just salad with a lot of fish sauce, nothing that great. We also tried the Wagyu tartare and that was tasty. Good concept for a pop-up!

Cod good. Wagyu no better than a good cut from any retailer. Lobster croquettes allegedly world class were poor, strong flavours masking the lobster. Wagyu tartar was spicy and diced again poor. The ‘special’ mayo was hot and quite unpleasant. The 3 carafes of wine for £39 was quirky and unique and a good way to try 3 wines. So the idea of bringing expensive food to the masses is a good one but the didn’t deliver apart from the cod

Have been to Zelmans a couple of times and was excited to hear about this pop up. It didn’t disappoint! The service was brilliant and the food was incredible! Already booked to go back in a few weeks’ time. Hope Black Cod and Wagyu becomes a permanent fixture.

Fish was overpowering, steak just tastes like a normal steak.

The steak and cod are fantastic. Beef tartare is tasty as well but fried rice could be improved.

Food is just ok ! The lobster fried was too oily , wagyu beef should be red ! No good like internet told ! The service is nice and friendly!

The black cod was good, the steak alright though it's was not proper wagyu steak, the lobster rice I don't think was worth it for£10 side maybe with trying a different side, triple cooked cod we done well. Service was good was friend's birthday and they gave a free brownie with candle which was rather nice.

Black Cod and other dishes were amazing, but some improvement can be made on Wagyu steak. Black Cod was very well marinated with japanese miso and soy sauce, and it was sweet and flavoursome.

Lovely pop-up restaurant! I loved all the food, we shared both cod and wagu, and it was the best I’ve ever had. Even tried stake tartare for the first time, and the lobster croquettes were delicious. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and knowledgeable taking tome to talk to us, I will definitely be going back and would recommend to anyone!

Wagyu was a little bit underwhelming, tasted no matter than good steak I've had before now. However the cod was perfect and the sides were also great.

Excellent starters and cocktails. My wife really enjoyed the beef, but I found the glaze on the cod a little too sweet. Not sure their take on Thai papaya salad added to the experience, but overall a pretty good meal.

Great value for the mains. Other dishes are more pricey but still worth it. The wagyu is high grade rump and worthy of a visit. The black cod has to be my favourite though.

Service was great, the black cod is definitely worth trying. The steak stated it's wagyu beef but it tasted very standard to me. For £20 I can't expect the best cut but it's no wagyu experience.

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent music. The ambiance here was also notable. We really enjoyed both the black cod and wagyu so I can't pick a favorite. We also had the shrimp tempura, lobster rice and cabbage. Each and every dish was perfectly cooked (although my husband didn't enjoy the cabbage being charred... Added flavor in my opinion). Wagyu perfectly cooked, best version of cod I've ever had. Super clean bathrooms and friendly wait staff. All of this for VERY reasonable prices. We will definitely be back! Make this permanent!!!

The job of a food reviewer is to accurately convey the taste, texture, smell, and presentation of a restaurant's food. You not only comment on the food but also on the atmosphere, staff knowledge and attentiveness, the speed of service, the general impression of the restaurant or cafe. A great food review puts the reader at your table with you, allowing them to decide whether or not they want to visit the restaurant when they're done reading.

Not Japanese Wagyu but very nice nevertheless - Angus and Wagyu blend. Offered Japanese version but three times the price for half the amount. Cod lovely - sweetness overpowered salty side but still great texture. Thai salad good too. Nice sauv blanc from NZ to wash it down. Overall circa 70 a head for two courses. I think you get what you pay for. Will go again.

The black cod and wagyu pop up is actually tucked away behind a curtain in a hidden area near the bar. Food was amazing and service was friendly, personal and generally a cut above.

Great little restaurant attached the Zelmans restaurant in the bar at the back. Both the Black Cod and Wagyu were delicious, although portions a bit small for £20. The lobster rice as a side dish is also fantastic!

Service was quick and attentive without being overbearing. The wagyu was good along with the side of cabbage. I felt the lobster rice was slightly expensive for what it was but it was still tasty. I would go back to try the cod next time.

Service, starters and desserts were great. The mains were not. Wagyu was all right but the cod was a let down and not the best quality of fish
