Bringing a touch of theatre, class and the Mediterranean to Folkestone, Blooms @ the 1/4 is the ideal location for catching up with friends and enjoying a tipple or two alongside some truly fantastic food. Located on The Old High Street, this chic restaurant serves a fusion of quality Mediterranean and modern British dishes ranging from the famous Blooms Scotch egg and risotto rice balls to start, right through to traditional (and locally sourced) fish and chips, rib-eye steak and creamy garlic mussels, just for example. You’ll be wanting to reserve at this town centre restaurant as soon as you can.
With over 30 years local restaurant experience, owner of Blooms @ the 1/4, Phil Godden knows food, and good food at that. This Folkestone restaurant and bar is committed to locally sourced produce and bringing an authentic taste of the Mediterranean to the area, catering to even the most discerning diners among us. Blooms @ the 1/4 is one of Folkestone’s best and brightest spots for lunch, dinner and cocktails, and with a prime spot in the town centre on The Old High Street, this stylish spot is the perfect choice for any occasion.
While the vibe and atmosphere of Blooms @ the 1/4 oozes cool, it’s the menu that’s the standout as you would expect. To start, we recommend opting for the butternut arancini with sieved red peppers, peas, parmesan and herbs or perhaps the charcuterie board with artisanal bread, olive oil, cornichons and balsamic. While, for the main event, you’ll want to keep an eye out for the braised steak and mushroom pie, Mediterranean-style king prawn linguine with garlic, chilli, butter topped with rocket and parmesan or the Catalan fish stew brimming with local seafood delights like mussels, clams, squid and prawns, served with locally made artisanal bread. Whatever you select from Blooms @ the 1/4 in Folkestone, you can rest assured that this town centre restaurant will leave you all kinds of happy. Bookings are essential.
Once again, brilliant service and amazing food. The pea and fennel soup starter was to die for! I had the burger which was delicious, the fries were really lovely and the home-made coleslaw was exceptional. I couldn’t eat it all as the portions were so generous. I highly recommend this restaurant I’ve never had a bad experience here. Wonderful.
Four of us dined, had mains and desert but didn't try the starters. Bread board was lovely with a good selection of fresh bread and delicious dips. To follow I had the creamy seafood linguine, others tried Catalan fish stew, fish pie, and cod and chips. The food was excellent and the atmosphere pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful, bringing my companion two samples of wine so that she could decide which she preferred. We had a lovely evening.
Food was lovely as well as the cocktails. Will definitely be back x
