Bombay Quay is a new curry house in Northwich, but they’re old hands at the Indian restaurant game. They are an offshoot of Bombay 8 in Warrington, a family-owned and award-winning curry house, so they’ve got the chops – tandoori lamb, most likely – that mean that their opening in Northwich town centre was met with no little fanfare. Their owner, and member of the family that runs Bombay 8, is Jango Alam, and his staff are able to produce all the favourites of the curry house genre, with more than a few surprisingly specialities to be enjoyed along the way.
The curry house tradition is long in the UK, and indeed in Northwich, and there are key elements which must be correct for an Indian restaurant to be successful. Bombay Quay has all of them in spades. Poppadoms to start, then pakoras, samosas, bhajis and more fried favourites to follow, as well as lashings of tandoori tikka specials and meat dishes.
