Bombay Spice - York

Fantastic food and great atmosphere,staff very welcoming,the bombay spice seems to be very busy even on week days .i would definitely visit again as we enjoyed the whole experience very much.

Great food and excellent service. However the table was up against the bar and therefore the staff were always around and it felt as though we were not left alone to eat our meals. It will not put us coming back though when in York.

Great food and very friendly staff. My daughter has a nut allergy and staff were very helpful in choosing appropriate dishes, even cooking dishes which were off menu. Highly recommended.

We were a group of 10. We regularly use Bombay Spice for our end of season get together. As usual food and service was excellent.

Had a fabulous meal the other night, we had a large table and we had a great selection of food and wine. We were well looked after and would recommend it to lovers of Indian food.

Food ok, poor service. First meal served was not hot, ended up eating separately as a couple. The food was average Indian food & although they obliged by cooking another meal I had finished before my partner got his meal,

Good quality food with friendly efficient staff made for a great night out & location of restaurant was in the heart of York meaning plenty to do before & after our meal.

We went for the lunch menu. Food was good - good size portions, nice and hot. It would be good if the lunch menu included a popadom as well, as other restaurants do. It was very quiet, only 2 other customers, but that’s probably not unusual for that time of day and year.

Best Indian I've ever had! Absolutely delicious food and a nice atmosphere. I will definitely be visiting here again soon, the chef's specials were just unbelievable. The drinks on tap were also pretty good too!

Great curry, very tasty and authentic. Also reasonably priced, very good customer service. I'd definitely go back when I next visit York. Give it a try!

Really enjoyed dining at Bombay Spice. The food was very well prepared and tasty as well as being reasonably priced. The staff where organised and polite even though it seemed that the restaurant was nearly full that evening. Thank You. I will look to dine here again when in York.

Very friendly and helpful staff , but the food although not bad was nothing special . There are certainly restaurants in york with better Indian food.

Lovely food very close to town centre. One of the best Indian restaurants I've been to. Very pleasant staff and nice surroundings.all in all we throughly enjoyed it.

Despite minor issue with waiter spilling a drink, all was resolved quickly and professionally and the food was fabulous. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone after a good curry.

Great service and staff. Food was ok. Starters were tasty, we had the mixed for 2. Main courses were mixed, one much better than the other but that’s probably more our taste. Everything was very well prepared.

We were a group of 8 on a very busy Saturday evening but we could not have had a better experience! The staff were courteous and efficient and the food was excellent. Very reasonably priced, as well. Definitely a place to return to on a future visit! Our thanks to the staff for a great experience.

The whole experience was excellent. The staff were polite and friendly. We had poppadoms with dips which were very tasty. My partner had the chicken Balti and I had the lamb along with garlic and coriander naan and rice, all superb. In addition we were offered a liquer to finish - lovely!

It's gone down in my experience since last year meal are not as good. We were asked if we wanted dessert twice we said we only want coffee we waited a while for them .so I don't think we will be going back again next time we are in york sorry.

Lovely place to eat, resteraunt was very busy Friday evening we pre booked., Although Staff very busy the service was excellent, and very polite. free Bailey's to finish was a nice touch. been twice before and will go again next time we're in York.

We booked this restaurant based on previous reviews and we weren't disappointed, the place was packed it had a great atmosphere the food & staff were absolutely fantastic. We will be returning next we are in York

Originally booked for 4 people, but party was eventually for 11! Staff accommodated us with such grace and politeness - very good experience - food excellent.

I arranged a lunch time rendezvous to meet up with old friends, there were 6 of us. I knew they were open from 12-2pm. We arrived shortly after 12. We ordered and asked for wine and then for a jug of tap water. The jug came but no glasses. I asked for glasses for the water and they brought 2 glasses full of water!! At 1.45 the closed sign was put on the door and they stood around clearly waiting for us to leave, we didn't dare ask for dessert or coffee. The bill was produced without us asking for it and when we put our coats on, the door was unlocked to let us out. All a bit like Fawlty Towers!! The food was ok, nothing to shout about.

Awesome place. The servers were very attentive and polite. We ordered Lamb samosas and onion Bhaji to start and were very tasty for mains we ordered lamb rogan Josh and chicken korma which again did not disappoint. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely food, excellent service. My curry was a little hotter than I would have liked but I did go for a hot one so my fault but it wa still lovely. Will be ordering a medium in future.

The food was delicious & looked to be freshly cooked. The staff were welcoming, attentive & smiling making it a very pleasant evening. Had a lovely bottle of rose wine at a very reasonable price.

The staff were lovely but the decor was not very Indian like and the food was very bland. Will not be returning. Unsure how it made it into the top 10 on trip advisor.

There were nice friendly staff and delicious food. All dishes were flavoursome. Service was good and we had a lovely meal which all 5 of us enjoyed, including the children.
