Rubbish atmosphere but the food was ok. We were virtually the only people there and the waiter was clearly longing to shut up shop and go home

The positives are the location and the interior decor, which is nice. Unfortunately that wasn't matched by the rest of our dining experience. The restaurant was not busy when we arrived, so I was disappointed with the wait for our food. I ordered the Wild Sea Bass with mash. The sea bass was full of flavour, but definitely on the small side for the price. However, the mash had lumps in it. I was also disappointed by the various additional service charges, which were not counted as tips.

Very quiet - only a couple of tables occupied - which, for a misanthrope, is ideal.

The waitress for our table forgot to order the drinks - so we were waiting for a good half hour before they finally arrived. Apology slightly halfhearted and I’m surprised we were not offered at least one glass for free. First course - Coquilles St Jacques - was absolutely delicious. Main course - rabbit pappardelle - just too rich and creamy, no real flavour of the rabbit. The service wasn’t great, and the automatically added charge was 25£, in reflection I think that was a bit high. Only the maitre d was properly professional and friendly. Overall it was just ‘ok’ - I’d expected more.

I had the lobster bisque which was not well made and too thin with odd bits floating in it. Followed with the tempura prawn and squid. The chef had no idea how tempura should be done and it was a very disappointing dish. I shall not be back.

I am a steak tartar lover, but unfortunately have to say the way it is prepared in Boulestin leaves much to be desired.

Nice small terrace (c. 10 tabels) in the courtyard in the summer. Limited exposure to the sun. Tasteful menu card with a variety of french dishes. High quality food, but pricy.

Good news: Open on Mondays. Bad news:Not at all busy, yet service so slow as to be practically none. We were in no hurry and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. A good set lunch, plus cheese and coffee, to which a stonking 13.5% service charge added, we paid a tad over £80ph.

Beautiful private courtyard in Mayfair perfect for impressing a date or out-of-town relatives. Fantastic food, mostly classic French recipes beautifully executed. Great service. On the expensive side.

Despite being dressed as tourists, we were warmly greeted, asked if we preferred indoor or outdoor seating and promptly offered beverages. Excellent meal and service. Not inexpensive but worth every farthing! Memorable.

The food was excellent, gravadlax and herring was a delicious starter starter followed by perfectly cooked calves liver and spinach as a side. Service was gracious efficient and attentive. The lunch was so good I went back and had dinner there in the evening.

Very nice surroundings, varied menu and good spacing of tables. Great courtyard for al fresco dining. Slow service when I sat down, ahead of my guests, was the only downside.

Food was fine; nothing special but the service was inattentive; it took a long time for my fish to arrive and I noted that the skin hadn't been crisped like the other tables. Not a great place to have a weekday business lunch. I won't be coming back anytime soon.

We went there for Saturday brunch and loved the place and the food. However there was an owner's kid birthday party and in was extremely loud. Not what we expect from going to restaurant like this. Lovely place we just got there at the wrong time.

Went on Saturday 13th with my boyfriend - as I was told the restaurant was very romantic. It wasn't particularly - no more than any posh restaurant. . . BUT Wonderful food & great service. Very expensive - but lovely for a special treat.

We ate in the charming courtyard. Service was as friendly and professional as ever. The new fixed price menu is good value if not quite grand cuisine. The wine list remains both impressive and expensive - a cheaper house wine would be a good idea. Otherwise, the Boulestin is hard to fault and deserves more recognition. One final bonus: no pestilential piped music in the main restaurant or the courtyard

The food and service was good and competent, but the reception staff slightly snooty when we requested a garden table. We were landed a 2 person table next to the doors leading to the garden - it was small and pokey and constantly over-looked by other diners. We felt slightly in the way It was unfortunate that some of the larger tables were "unavailable" whilst unoccupied - there is definitely not a culture of appeasing newcomers or being overly accommodative. To be honest, at c.£85 per person, Cafe Murano or other neighbouring restaurants are a better bet if you are after quality cuisine and a great vibe.
