The best steak I have had for some time. Service was excellent although the restaurant was on the cold side. Staff were very helpful and there was a nice view.
Fantastic service and very friendly staff. Food was piping hot and extremely tasty...huge portions too. Overall a lovely place to have a quiet meal with family and friends.
Lovely food especially the fish, we had scallops, mussels and plaice all really good. Very friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere. A little hard to find as it’s in a corner so the signs could be improved but would definitely return in the future.
Relaxing atmosphere, good food, good service. Was quiet being mid week but would imagine nice venue for a large party or a weekend treat. Our server very polite and attentive.
We have eaten at the Brasserie Fish and Grill on numerous occasions, and this last visit was up to the usual high standard we have come to expect. Booking the table in advance, we were greeted by a smiling waitress who showed us to an excellent table overlooking the Marina. Our starters were a Prawn Cocktail and Whitebait, good sized portions and nicely prepared. Moving on to the main course my partner had the Spaghetti al Salmone, and I had the traditional fish and chips, all cooked to perfection and served good and hot. The waitress was attentive at all times during the meal. Due to the portion sizes we were unable to eat a dessert which was a shame as they all looked delicious on the menu. Despite the recent negative publicity in a local newspaper, I feel this venue is highly recommended.
All 3 of us were impressed. Starters - White Bait, Mussels, Calamari - yummy. Mains - Skate, Plaice, Salmon impressed with not only with the taste but the portions and presentation. Dessert - Cheesecake was shared between the two Mums - yummy and my Daughter had the sorbet which she said tasted homemade. We were not only impressed with the meals but also the service and the friendliness of the staff who smiled a lot. The whole experience was very enjoyable and my Mother and I even got a tulip to go home with. Added bonus 1 Mum ate free, if that isn't a bargain what is! Don't eat out much but will definitely be returning.
We found the restaurant by looking at the Port Solent map at the entrance. It was tucked away in a corner. The staff were friendly and let us choose a table. We chose to sit by the window so had a good view of the marina. The food portions were good. The lemon chicken was very tasty and the cod was in a really creamy sauce. We did have to pay the 10% service charge but it was part of the terms and conditions written on the voucher we had. All in all, a lovely meal and will visit again.
Three different starters chosen, scallops, tempura prawns and chicken pate, all were excellent, likewise three different main courses, cod fillet with salsa, plaice with a cheese sauce and spinach, and sea bass fillet with leeks the chef certainly knows how to cook fish, everything was delicious. Two desserts were chosen, the chocolate soufflé and cassata both were great. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and not at all pushy. I would certainly return and recommend it to others.
The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere when we went in and the waitresses were friendly and attentive. We had a groupon deal and I asked if I could swap the starter for a dessert - they said no. Not a huge deal but would have been nice to see them make an effort. Then the starter my partner and I both wanted, they didn't have. They should have told us this before the meal - again not a huge deal but it should have been said. I had mussels for main and quite frankly they were horrible. They had an almost dead smell and put me off eating them. It flavoured the whole sauce and the smell was vile. My partner had the cod which he said was lovely but portion size was terrible for a normal sized bloke! Cocktails were lovely but can't say we will be going back in a hurry!
Great food and as usual (this was my 6th visit to the restaurant) a great place to enjoy dinner on a Spring evening beside the Port Solent Marina. Actually Port Solent must be one of the coolest eating places on the South Coast and what makes it so good is not just the variety of restaurants, the outside waterside eating areas (in the Spring/Summer) but the easy and free parking!
