Mediocre food. There are plenty of better places to eat. Lobster burger has very little lobster, padded with fish and extremely small and dry. Totally lost in the bun and at £19 is overrpriced. Steak was tough. Chips were frozen chips.
Quiet restorant with delicious food and perfect serving. We enjoyed our family Easter lunch there and will visit it again. Best choice of restorant for Easter.
Great service, good staff and food at an affordable cost, this restaurant is tucked away behind the core restaurants and shops, am sure lots of people would love to eat there, please expose your restaurant further....
Lovely food. Great staff. Only let down was there were no baby changing facilities so had to change baby on the floor of the corridor outside toilets
Very nice meal for 8 people and good service but rather disappointed about the 10% service charge added to the bill and the fact that we were unable to use our Groupon vouchers even though Mother's Day was classed as an exclusion.
Service was excellent and the food really good quality and reasonably priced. If i have one small complaint was the wine only came in one size, it would be nice to be able to have choice of size
Good value for money as I had a voucher. Would go again without voucher. Decor and setting is lovely. Had fish chowder and garlic and lemon chicken breast with mashed potato. All very delicious.
Not great food, the sauce overpowered the fish dish. I would have been very disappointed if this was an evening meal anf would have rejected the meal.
All 3 of us were impressed. Starters - White Bait, Mussels, Calamari - yummy. Mains - Skate, Plaice, Salmon impressed with not only with the taste but the portions and presentation. Dessert - Cheesecake was shared between the two Mums - yummy and my Daughter had the sorbet which she said tasted homemade. We were not only impressed with the meals but also the service and the friendliness of the staff who smiled a lot. The whole experience was very enjoyable and my Mother and I even got a tulip to go home with. Added bonus 1 Mum ate free, if that isn't a bargain what is! Don't eat out much but will definitely be returning.
We found the restaurant by looking at the Port Solent map at the entrance. It was tucked away in a corner. The staff were friendly and let us choose a table. We chose to sit by the window so had a good view of the marina. The food portions were good. The lemon chicken was very tasty and the cod was in a really creamy sauce. We did have to pay the 10% service charge but it was part of the terms and conditions written on the voucher we had. All in all, a lovely meal and will visit again.
Very enjoyable lunch. Nice setting in Marina. Good food and good service would definitely recommend. Had the Moules marinière really tasty with fish chowderror to start.
The food was such a good value for money . Brilliant flavour and we really enjoyed that. I love the prawn salad and absolutely delicious flavour of chicken. I will definitely go back there again in a future.
Excellent food and service. Lovely location. Good value for money. My first time there I will go back again. In the summer evenings I'm sure it will be even more enhanced by the view.
I booked a table but it wasnt overly busy, the drinks service was really slow and the bottles of beer are really expensive. Food was very good and really tasty, i dont like the fact that if i want vegetables i have to pay extra though, they dont cost a lot and a couple spoonfuls on the plate would be good. My partner had fish and chips and said it was really good so i would recommend getting the Groupon offer for fish and chips if you both want them. My tuna steak was really good, cooked very well. Staff were friendly
Somewhat disappointing. Food OK, service mediocre, location not the best. Seems to think it's better than it us. Not on my list to go again.
Very nice. Lovely food. My fish and chips were cooked perfectly. We had a Groupon deal so was very good value for money. Staff were friendly. Would definitely go back again.
The food was lovely, the two negatives were the price of the beer, it worked out £7 a pint and the surcharge added on, so no tip was given as they added there own.
Great service and superb food! Highly recommended 😀 Clean and nicely set out restaurant. Waiters and waitresses are friendly and keen to help with requests.
Delicious fish and chips at very reasonable price. Quick and pleasant service. Window seat gave lovely outlook to the marina. Will definitely be going back.
Great food great service good location in Port Solent my wife and friend really enjoyed the virgin cocktails and the view from the restuarant was lovely.
A most enjoyable evening with friends. The service from the very friendly staff was excellent and we all enjoyed a variety of fish dishes. My only reservation would be the chips which I thought were rather dry. We will definitely be returning.
The restaurant was quiet, being mid-week, but we all thought the food was excellent and I can highly recommend the Dover sole. We'll definitely be going there again and hopefully, by then, the Port Solent management will see fit to put up some decent signage. For everybody's information, turn right and walk all along the boardwalk.....
This was our third visit and the food was excellent, as was the service. The view from the restaurant windows is not very interesting, however we will certainly go here again.
WE WERE NOT GIVEN THE CHOICE OF PAYING 'THE OPTIONAL' 10% SERVICE CHARGE, IT WAS JUST ADDED TO OUR BILL AND PRESENTED TO US TO PAY. SO BE AWARE OF THAT! ALSO THE MENU ON LINE IS VERY DIFFERENT IN 'PRICE' AND 'CHOICE' FROM IN THE RESTAURANT
Food was very nice. Service was very good. Lots of choices on the menu. Lots of special offers available. Wine list and drinks selection very good. Overall, we had a very nice meal.
this is our second time to the restaurant. The food is good and the groupon deal for fish & chips for two is excellent. Our table was poorly lit and the table lights has candles that were at the end of their wicks. We swapped out 5 pots but after a few minutes the candle extinguished itself. Only downside to an enjoyable meal
Went there on a groupon voucher for fish and chips. What we had was battered fish, french fries and a handful of peas, which were an extra. We had drink each, bill came to £9.00 odd. Then they put a service charge on the bill of 10%, which was irrelavant of the groupon voucher ie a service charge on £26.69. Not good value really wont be going back. Thanks but no thanks
Excellent food, great service and good value. We were seated as soon as we arrived and had a lovely view over the marina. Very nice indeed!
We didn't have too long to wait for our food and very delicious it was too. The atmosphere was ambient and the restaurant was lovely. We will definitely go there again.
Fish tasteless, watery inedible. Oven chips. Stoggy bread roll. Latte -milky with little evidence of coffee. Atmosphere terrible uncomfortable. loud 90s disco music.. Service charge put on bill without our permission we asked to have it taken off , but to be fair the waitress was friendly. We were asked why we didn't complain, our reply, we didn't know where to start ? It was a groupon deal so just put it down to a bad experience. Won't be going back .
The Brasserie needs better ventilation - a wall of damp greasy air greets you on arrival. Lighting is harsh - just install a few dimmer switches and all will be well. Fish had very fatty batter -oozing when pressed with a fork. Service was good and attentive.
I was very happy with our visit, the staff were very friendly, the place was nice and clean, Great food, good service and very good price overall very happy.
Atmosphear and food was lovely. However was extremely disapointed with the starter of king prawns as was £8.50 and had 3 tiny prawns on a large plate. Also service charge was optional according to there menu but this was attomatically added to our bill and we were charged without being asked if we wanted to pay the 10% service charge. Other than these two things had a good, relaxed evening.
Very nice scollops, but menu was different to what was on the website. No lobster :( very reasonably prised 2 course meal. The rose on the bill was a nice touch for valentines day.Would go back again.
Lobster on the menu online but not in the restaurant. It was nice and quiet. Pleasant staff, good food. Scallops starter could've been a bit bigger for the money and maybe include bread for the sauce. Chocolate tarte desert was amazing! Whole sea bass cooked to perfection. Over all a nice meal.
Not a Great Experience. The Mussels Mariniere were really really small & some of the shells were empty. The cod creme was a the rubbery side & the sauce a bit insipid. The house white wine was good value. I recommend visiting only if receiving a special menu deal either before 6.30 p.m. or Sunday - Thursday evening or lunchtimes.
It was only ok. Drinks very expensive. Fish was a bit 'wet' so the batter wasn't very crispy, and not many chips. The homemade tartar sauce was tasty.
I went there because the on-line menu offered lobster, but the menu in the restaurant did not include it, Similarly there were no sardines on the menu. If you go to a seafood restaurant you would expect to get a variety of seafood. The meals we had were fine and the staff were friendly, but no very sympathetic. Perhaps in the future i need to ask whether or not what I want will be available before I book.
Food was excellent, service rather slow. It was admittedly a Sunday evening but we were there nearly two hours for a three course meal. Doesn't mean we won't visit again. Recommended.
Tuesday 7pm on the 27th December 2016. Our party of 4 all had the fish and chips but were not offered the Special Offer on the web site of the meal and glass of wine for £9.95, On ordering a bottle of Chardonnay from the food menu were informed that we could only order wine from the main drinks menu and even I bulked at paying £21.50 for a very average bottle of Chardonnay. The fish and chips were just ok, nothing to like the photos on the web site. Extremely disappointed.
